Maybe LOL. But the potential for Bryce to not want to engage Kron on the mat is very real. Which means we get a shitty striker winning a boring decision over an even shittier striker.

I'm old AF so I remember Pe De Pano vs Jeff Monson way back when. They'd competed in grappling. World champ level guy in Pe De Pano vs ADCC top level grappler Monson. And...they stood and stared at each other for 15 minutes.

A little bit fresher example would be Nickal vs Craig. I was sure they’d stand for the entire fight and we’d see a shit kickboxing fight with the taller guy throwing kicks and the other guy staying back and planting for a occasional overhand.

Imagine if they grappled with bad intentions? Shit would’ve been great!

Yep. I assumed Nickal would stand too, I just thought he'd be more aggressive since he's shown some power and Craig's chin is questionable. With Bryce and Kron...neither have power or skills standing. So even the prospect of a wild, sloppy brawl seems unlikely. Both know their striking sucks. Bryce knows how dangerous Kron's grappling is, but that Kron probably can't force the figt to the mat if Bryce doesn't want it there. It has all the makings of a snooker.

The ONLY reason I'm holding out a little hope of it being entertaining is that Bryce has a screw loose and might say "F it" and take Kron down to make a point and show how good he thinks his grappling is.

I think Bryce saying "F it" and trying to prove that he's the better grappler is very possible. Him grinding Kron into the cage and picking away at him (standing or on the ground) seems the most likely outcome.

While we're talking about Aljo/Evloev...can someone explain how Mitchell/Kron is on the ppv and this one on the prelims??? It's not even the "featured prelim" that they use to try to lure people into buying the ppv. Aljo/Evloev and Battle/Brown are both way more compelling than Bryce/Kron. And more important when it comes to divisions etc. Bryce got sent to the shadow realm by Emmett last fight and Kron barely fights and is a one dimensional guy in his late 30's that's not gonna evolve. Aljo/Evloev is a #1 contender fight. Brown and Battle both on win streaks.

Because this PPV will tank with that main event. Way more eyeballs on the prelims. Urijah Faber explained it well when he was on the prelims of UFC 175 while Russell Doane vs. Marcus Brimage was on the main card.

I guess yeah. As a die hard, I'm like "the co main is Shavkat vs Garry!", but casuals don't even know who those 2 are. So what you're saying makes some sense.

Its 50-50 fight. Brown is better striker but weaker mentally. If Battle implements grappling then he wins. In pure stand up, Brown easy

Why I like Volkov to defeat Gane in rematch

-Gane inactivity
-Volkov improvements
-Gane zero evolution

Gane is still with Lopez which is a huge mistake. Lopez is not a championship level coach. Ngannou and Imavov realized this, which is why they left him. Gane sadly won’t understand this. Volkov understood this and he changed camps. It’s very important to change coaches to evolve. Jon Jones realized this as well

Volkov has not improved but does better against strikers. Gane might have his number but over three rounds Volkov could possibly win on points. I don’t like Volkov in this though I like Gane by decision it’s safe.

Movsar vs Aljo sounds like it will go to split dec most of the time. Meaning the fight will be close as possible but imo Movsar still gets the win. Pass on bet side for me.

Movsar looks the best against the highest level opponents I think he rises to the level of his competition. Looked surprisingly solid against Allen in all facets, I like him against a 35 year old Aljo, by decision.

the margin was not that wide last time. the frequent fights by volkov could sway the strikes landed. in the first 3 rounds Volk should have gotten 1 round in all judges score cards, and round 2 was razor thin. That 50-45 scoring was some bias scoring imo.

I changed my mind about Shakvat/Gerry

I think Shakvat will get him out of there in round 3.

Ian's activity drops a lot in round 3, and i noticed Shakvat plateaus in his finishing round when facing better competition than usual. could go to round 4 but round 3 is his usual late finish.

i'm staying away from that barn burner. it really is a 50/50 fight.

Choi makes tactical errors sometimes getting caught with his pants down pivoting backwards, getting hit with loopy hooks to his forehead. Nate doesn't usually lunge forward like that though. Nate likes to stay in the pocket and work the jab, clinch, with the occasional power punch. He's the busier fighter, which can work against Choi if he waits all day for the big power shots, he can give up rounds.

But I favor Choi to get the knock out, as we've seen Nate get put out by Burns who is very mid. Nate has made improvement to his defense so cant judge him to harshly from past tape. It just feels like a scrappy fight with chaos and can end with whoever lands first, not my type of fight i like to bet on.

I think both fighters in conclusion have each other's kryptonite = activity vs power


If you make money with Choi, it's going to be determined by a microsecond of a lapse of judgement on Nate .

I would just handicap it and bet on Choi to win by ko or ko1 , ko2. both guys are chinny btw, that is why i pass mostly

Weirdly, Nate has 2 KO losses in 23 pro fights and both were from getting hit flush with knees to the face. Not sure how relevant that is...?

He's a good wrestler. But I've seen nothing from him that tells me he can spend 25 minutes locked in a cage with Ilia Topuria and not get his head knocked off. His standup isn't awful like some guys who just want to take people down, but it's not enough to threaten someone at the level of Ilia. And it's not like Ilia can't grapple. Mitchell was taking everyone he faced down pretty easily until he fought Ilia and then he had no chance.
