Very true, agreed.I understand the game they play these days, strategy and whatnot, but it was exciting back then bc you couldn't really do that. You couldn't train for 7 other guys like that, no drawn out camps. You trained your style and sharpened your skills, and tested them against whomever you happened to have across from you and trusted in your ability. You were seriously in the shark tank, and only the strongest survived. Man, I miss it. I still watch that old shit pretty frequently
I have lots of old VHS MMA tapes from around the world of Dan Severn, its amazing to watch, wrestling all these Russian guys to death. His skill level is billions of levels above the crap UFC HW 2024 now. He would tap them all quickly. They would all be beached whales on the floor and won't know what to do, there would be no striking, they would be on their backs in seconds, Stipe included, stranded. They had to invent belts because he won so many in hundreds of MMA fights, and thousands of wrestling matches all over the world.
