Crime Two Minnesota Lawmakers Shot

Something just isn't adding up about this guy to me. He seems all over the place. People say he supported trump and was conservative, but then has a bunch of "no kings" protest flyers in the car, while simultaneously being appointed to a board by Tim Walz and his wife worked for Walz. Could just be that the guy is a lunatic. I think we need more info before we can say what his motivations were.
It will never add up to you. You're brainwashed and couldn't add in school anyways.

You're not seeking truth. You're seeking any straw you can grasp to not hurt your sick political identity. Any imaginary points you can add towards your life defining culture war.

Your identity is literally determined by some rich dude who wouldn't even let you sit on the grass at his cheapest country club.

He wasn't all over the place. At one time he might have been associated with Walz, but all evidence indicates that he switched parties, becoming one of those Americans MAGA types like yourself so gleefully claimed as "fleeing" the libs, and was staunchly a pro-Trump Republican.

The fliers in his car don't mean anything sitting there inertly. Maybe that was a stack that organizers left at his church, or somewhere else, and it set him off. He raged by picking them up so that nobody would see them.

Really, I can't stand this. I couldn't stand it when the leftists did it with the Trump assassins. "Well, we really don't know." LOL, STFU, we know. They were headcases trying to kill Trump out of some left-wing sympathy. This guy was trying to kill two Democratic lawmakers out of his right-wing sympathies.

It's reprehensible, there's no value in partisan flag-waving because there are loonies on both sides, but this guy was a right-wing loonie. It's just a basic truth. I can't stand it when people bend over backwards to deny the obvious.
Good post, but can you at least admit Trump stirs up violence against the opposition?

I think if you ever needed definitive proof we live in an unreality created by right wing misinformation it's this news story. A clear anti choice, anti lgbtq activist who is a Trump supporter targets multiple Democrats and murders them. The reaction is that he was a leftist. It's just impossible to really navigate a path forward when there is this level of delusion and ignorance combined with woeful media literacy and an ecosystem that pumps out right wing conspiracies for fun. Go look at the comments on fox news and ny post stories about this guy. This country is absolutely cooked and I am still stunned Trump didn't win by more given the state of the electorate.
I agree with the country being cooked. I’d actually take it one step further and say it’s an organized disinformation campaign. Alex Jones, Charlie Kirk, Jack Posebic, Catturd, Matt Walsh, Laura Loomer, etc have got to know they’re lying. They just want power and will do whatever they can to make sure dems stay out of it. They treat it like they’re at war. Lying and deflecting will lead to more violence and they’re fine with it. Just a week or so ago all these right wing accounts tweet almost word for word that the USA needs to ban all immigration from third world countries. They’re relentless and now it’s found its way into so many hobbies as well. UFC is in bed with the Trump regime. If you play video games you eventually start watching people like Asmongold who repeat these talking right wing talking points. It’s just scary how you can’t escape it because of how they post twenty four seven. Go on X and try to avoid hearing these lies. You can’t. Don’t know how we go forward

I have no evidence to support this, but my thought on the flyers is that maybe he was planning to blend into the protest crowd somehow

It started brewing with right-wing radio. I knew people that listened to that as soon as they got into their cars to go to work. Rush Limbaugh shouting at you for hours fucks your head up.

Yeah I was going to say that actually. The dehumanization process began a while back. Democrats are evil, they eat babies, they sacrifice them, Obama is a foreign agent, etc. There’s also a religious component to it as well. Black vs white, good vs evil. They really see it that way some of them. If you view your opposition as literal demons it’s hard not to come to the conclusion that violence is justifiable. It’s important to note this killer attended churches in Africa saying that evil had taken over their minds referring to gays and trans people. Yet another example of extreme religiosity on the far right

The modern right is very much big government. They're full blown authoritarians at this point.

Your confusing a liberitain vs a conservative.

Conservatives ( at least the ones i know) belive in states rights but some controls in federal hands.

But not Jake Tapper, Don Lemon, Kyle Kulinski, Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Abby Phillips, Larry O'donnel, Jimmy Kimmel, Harry Sisson, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Titus, + 1000's of others...

Right?

You're such a mark.

Good post, but can you at least admit Trump stirs up violence against the opposition?

It's not a good post. It calls out rignt wing extremism well, but there is almost nothing to indicate that the Trump shooters were "left wing sympathetic." This is just more both-sidesism in the face of this guy being a bonafide Evangelical nutjob Trump-humper.

Meme culture has rotted some of these people's brains

Politics have exacerbated it. Imagine posting that and reveling in those deaths because someone is on the opposite side of the aisle as you. I've got friends who are Republicans, and while I think the modern era of that party is bigoted, corrupt and partially inept, we still watch football every weekend, and drink together. There's something wrong with a lot of these people.

It goes back further than that really. You can trace it back to at least the John Birch society, but really, I'd argue that it started with the Business Plot. If those people were hanged like the treasonous fascist swine they were, this country would be in a far better place right now.

So they believe in States' rights, unless they don't.

Checks out.

It's clear.

1. The Tenth Amendment:

    • The Tenth Amendment is a key part of the Bill of Rights and is often cited in discussions about states' rights.
    • It clarifies that any powers not specifically given to the federal government, nor denied to the states, are reserved for the states or the people.
    • This amendment establishes the principle of federalism, where power is divided between the federal and state governments, according to the Legal Information Institute.
