Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

Dw bro anyone seriously trying to mock wealth is miserable themselves

You already conceded it's a popularity contest so what does it matter if she was objectively better if she wasn't popular

Again, if Trump was the most popular candidate why would they replace him

With his base it was because it was sold as a tough approach to people who are sick of a soft approach

Bruh I'm the one that said they're a popularity contest, you conceded they are and I said you accordingly need  popular policies. It's still about policy, but popular policy. I know democrat supporters are allergic to the word but I have faith in you.

It's like if a prosecutor has a slam dunk case against a repeat violent offender who's accused of another violent crime and there's plenty of evidence to convict. The trial drags on for 4 years. The prosecutor clearly has dementia or alzheimers but the DA denies it and let's him keep making a fool of himself. Meanwhile the defense is charismatic and saying all the right things for many people. Then 3mths before the end of the trial the DA says whoopsie the prosecutors actually braindead, swaps him out for his junior clerk who is extremely unlikeable and she fumbles the case resulting in a close but split jury giving a not guilty as they werent convinced beyond reasonable doubt due to the poor prosecution and the violent offender goes free.

2mths later the violent offender puts someone in hospital

Wouldn't you agree the DA bears part responsibility for not handling the case better when it was obvious to everyone in the court room it was being mismanaged?
Killing them straight. I like it

So you literally just detailed how entire ROW is going to benefit from tariffs, and apparently the US is the only loser in all of this.
Where did i ever said "benefit"?

Have you looked at the Chinese market recently? How bout them all time lows. Have you looked at the European markets recently? How bout them 14 month lows.
And this ladies and gentlemen showcases the deplorable mentality perfectly.

They don't mind getting fucked over as long as someone else suffers more than them.

Yea they are just killing it over there while the US suffers. These countries cannot lose the largest economy in the world by far as a customer and make it up from somewhere else while the US can make anything ourselves without the need for suicide nets.
Is that why the stock market is tanking?

Got to love the entitlement of the Trump voter, even when Trump does something extremely stupid, they are never at fault, its the Dems for hurting their feelings and forcing them to vote Trump.

Hillary was right, a bunch of deplorables.

Lol crying, we are making fun of dumbass Trump voters.
Everyone said Trump would tank the stock market and he fucking tanked the stock market.
Some of us money a ton of money betting against Trumps stock market, because we are the sort of people who don't think gold sneakers, bibles, meme coin rug pulls and Trump Camel Toe NFT's are solid investment. I just followed Warren Buffets lead who is not a 3rd generation trust fund baby who could not even make money owning a casino. Buffet knows how to make money and Trump only knows how to grift.
This is funny Trump raising the tariffs on China even more then previous and Vietnam it was discovered they are selling Nvidia 5090's to China and Trump said Friday he was happy that Vietnam agreed to drop their tariffs to zero. Trump found out that Vietnam was manufacturing 5090 boards and building bitcoin mining boxes with them and sending them to China. So now China facing even higher tariffs and may pose additional penalties. Elon and Kimble are raging online over these changes.

On a side note:
"
The report said that local officials are only now hearing of plans for the parade and that no formal request has been made for their assistance.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser estimated the parade plans are in their “early stages,” adding that either the Department of Homeland Security or White House reached out to the district’s special events task force, reported Fox News.

Arlington County Board Chair Takis Karantonis told the City Paper that the White House had given the county a “heads up” about the parade on Friday, with only 10 weeks until the event. The White House told Fox that “no military parade has been scheduled” for Trump’s birthday, but stopped short of saying outright there would not be one.

He said “the parade’s scope ” was “unclear” and that no firm details were disclosed.

Trump said in his first term that he would like to see tanks as part of a parade on Pennsylvania Avenue. Bowser said she did not want to see military tanks on the streets of Washington unless it received millions in extra funding.

“Military tanks on our streets would not be good,” Bowser said. “If military tanks were used, they should be accompanied with many millions of dollars to repair the roads.”

Other unnamed officials told the paper that a big military parade will require a huge amount of coordination between the six branches of the armed forces, along with several federal agencies and regional officials."

The Marines and Army should send equipment that was damaged in Ukraine to participate.

For one the defense wasn't really saying the right things irl, Trump ran on the worst economic platform in roughly a century.

It sounded like the right thing and that's all that matters to get a jury on your side or collect someone's vote.

I also don't think Kamala ran a bad campaign

I dont know what to say about that, even the most dedicated democrat circlejerks online were raging about her campaign. I was, as always, interested to hear what she had to say to counter Trump and she had....nothing...the few interviews she did came across as awful. The dems needed someone charismatic like Obama to compete with Trump.

If you wanted to make the analogy fit better you'd add in media coverage that was heavily favorable to the defense and tilted against the prosecution

You can add In anything you like, it doesn't change the fact the prosecution shit the bed and let a guy walk free and waltz into office.

I disagree Trump got positive media coverage though lmao I've never seen someone get so vilified by media. 2016-2020 you could take any negative Trump headline or quote, go look at the actual context and it would be nothing like what the media were saying.

Of course you can't make valid arguments so you resort to personal insults.

The markets are responding to uncertainty the way they always do, I don't think there is any point trying to explain it any further to you.

Well the best way to make sure there’s not a spooky scary trans person hiding under your bed is to not be able to afford a bed, I guess.
Damn you Righties and your 4D chess.
You laugh, I laugh too — democratic positions on social policies and the boarder are why we’re in this mess

Says the guy that invented a position

"If tariffs are bad why other countries are going to do them"

"They aren't going to do it or they will suffer from them"

"So what you are saying is that tariffs are good?"

"The U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 was a legislative bill that was proposed by President Joe Biden on his first day in office. It was formally introduced in the House by Representative Linda Sánchez."
"The bill would have made sweeping changes across the board to the United States immigration, visa, and border control system, including reversal and Congressional prohibition of many of the immigration-related executive actions of former president Donald Trump; providing a path to legal residence and eventual citizenship for as many as 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, as well as current DACA and Temporary Protected Status beneficiaries, essential workers on a non-immigrant status, and agricultural laborers; recreating the V visa program to allow families to await immigrant visa approval together in the US; ending country-specific visa annual maximums; granting immediate relative status to spouses and children of green card holders; and other changes.

I think voters just weren't paying attention to it for some reason, hence so many people being surprised that Trump went through with it despite his making this policy the centerpiece of his campaign.

There's a kind of double standard with Trump where he's expected to say nonsensical, stupid things so when he makes retarded policy suggestions like 10%-20% tariffs across the board he's not held to account over it like other candidates are because the media doesn't want to be perceived as having "TDS" as they see themselves as competing with alternative media.

Lots of people were indeed mad but I think that's because she tried to run a moderate campaign while not cutting herself off from Biden entirely. Leftists and progressives were bothered that she was making a move for the center and centrists wanted her to make an even harder break for the center.

But as I said the race was close in the end despite the deck being stacked against Kamala.

If anything its the opposite, the media takes it easy on Trump because they know that if they call out all his dumb and malevolent statements and policies they will be perceived as unfairly targeting him.

Its interesting because in a sense this is the one area where conservatives believe in DEI. If Trump is criticized more than other politicians in their eyes its not because he does more worth criticizing, its because the media is being unfair.

You wanna know how to tell that's bullshit and you're gullible? The single largest hub for GPU smuggling is Singapore, which received much lower tariffs. Singapore accounts for almost one third of Nvidia's revenue but less than 1% are actually shipped there.
Trump found out that Vietnam was manufacturing 5090 boards and building bitcoin mining boxes with them and sending them to China.
Since when is manufacturing PCBs illegal or limited?
