Trump-Ukraine Megathread V8

that's not my point.

My point is that this is absolutely still under the control of the Democrats.

Everything they do, it's for the sole purpose of discrediting Trump for the 2020 Elections.

They know he's not getting removed by the Senate so they're pulling this shit.

I'm not naive like some out there....I know what's really happening here.
Don't you think the phone call is damning and worthy of investigation?
Say, if Obama had done it?
Be honest.

Do you think Bill Taylor wrote his 15 page opening or did he pull a Mueller and hand it off?

Would like to see him under oath. But remember how that went for Democrats with the two-year hoax.

Was he not under oath when he delivered this statement and when he was questioned afterwards?

Is he? So far, this is merely an "impeachment inquiry" being done largely in secret by the Democrats. Conducting private interviews, not letting Republicans in the door, and then selectively leaking any information they gather they find to be damning. Pelosi isn't wanting to move forward with a house vote to initiate impeachment or even a house vote as to whether or not to proceed with this inquiry.

And of course, this was all started when an intelligence officer, who is a registered Democrat with business ties to one of the 2020 Democratic candidates, heard second hand information about what took place on Trump's call with the Ukrainian leader and decided his first step would be to get his information to Adam Schiff, the guy in Congress with the biggest hard on for impeaching Trump who repeatedly lied about the Russia collusion conspiracy theory, who then helped him formulate the plan of going through the whistleblower channels in the intelligence agency. This was a political hitjob from the start. The inquiry was launched without any facts. Trump shocked them by immediately releasing the transcript, which showed nothing but a casual mention of Biden on the call, and they've been scrambling ever since trying to fill in the "why" of the impeachment with whatever they can. They know Trump's guilty and needs to be impeached, they've known that since he took the oath of office, they just want to prove it. Conclusion is there, let's just continually seek evidence to support it.

Going to be a hard sell on the American public, especially given all that the last two Presidents did without one sniff of impeachment (Bush's war on Iraq, WMD claim, spying on American citizens, etc. / Obama's illegal gun ATF scandal, his weaponizing of the IRS, drone-striking and killing American citizens overseas, wiretapping journalists he didn't like, etc.). But good luck guys.

Let's call it like it really is :

In the Democrats eyes, The reason Trump should be impeached is because he beat Hillary and messed up their opportunity to have a pseudo-3rd term for Obama (Hillary was going to be his puppet, imo).

Yes. But it would have to go to the Senate for him to be impeached. Whatever happens in the House. That's the whole point. They would be lucky to get one or two Republican Senators who are focused on a pundit career to to do so. Much less the numbers they need. It's a complete election issue.

No, no, NO!

Impeachment happens in the HOUSE!!!

REMOVAL HAPPENS IN THE SENATE!

Come on, man.

Wild shit.

He's already been discredited. This is about his personal opinion. We've already seen the call. There is nothing new here. Anyone who believes that stupid phone call they are pushing this bs on is an impeachment offense is living in la la land.

The call? This is about far more than the phone call. Are you just going to ignore all of the other events that took place? Have you read Sondland's and Taylor's statements?

Of course, it's clear that's what this is. This isn't to say they won't/can't uncover Trump engaging in shady activity. He's a shady guy. But no one should be under the misconception that the Democrats care about anything other than removing him from office because they're butthurt over 2016.

They're very fortunate that 90% of the mainstream media hates Trump as much as they do. As a result, DNC talking points are repeated and going unchallenged ad-nauseam on NBC/ABC/CBS/CNN/MSNBC.

Forgive me. That's what I meant. He would need to actually be convicted in the Senate. The House can vote for impeachment but it goes nowhere. The Senate majority isn't going to vote against Trump. Mch less 2/3. No matter what happens in the House. It's a circus to impact the next election.

I read the call transcript. It's absolutely nothing.

But sean hannity and trump trolls say its all good

Literally no one thinks that except you Trumptards thinking the Nixonian excuses are believable to anyone outside your echo chamber.

No. The house impeaches. The senate convicts and removes him from office. If the house votes to impeach. he has been impeached.

Which is vague and could mean anything. Again. How many times did we hear this during the Russia? It's not good. Blah Blah Blah. That phone call is their entire made up case and it's a joke.

The Senate has to convict him. That's the impeachment. Whatever the House does it won't matter because no way it would pass the Senate.

Be honest.

If Obama had done it, we would have never known about it.

Hell, they did much more than casually mention the name of a political rival on a phone call with a foreign leader. Obama openly launched an investigation into Trump and his campaign, during the 2016 race/election, and didn't tell anyone. Hillary and the DNC hired an ex British intelligence officer and worked with the Ukranian government to develop a dossier on Trump (oppo research) during the 2016 election. There are just now some investigations being launched to look into it by Trump's DOJ, largely as a response to all the investigations launched by the Democrats.

If Republicans were as unhinged as the post-2016 Democrats are, there's a half dozen things they could have tried to impeach Obama for, maybe more, especially if this is now the standard.

I read the call transcript. It's absolutely nothing.

Why are you so hung up on the call? We are so far past that, you really need to catch up. The call is nothing at this point, Taylor's statement is far more damning.

Bill Taylor's statement is a personal opinion. It's not evidence of anything. The absurdity of it.

Again. Even the House GOP establishment is calling his testimony nothing. What does that say? That impeachment is going nowhere.

The Senate has to convict him. That's the impeachment. Whatever the House does it won't matter because no way it would pass the Senate.

Clinton was impeached and not convicted in the senate. He was still impeached.
