We did something similar in the 80’s when we armed and trained the Mujahideen and Northern Alliance to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan. When the Soviets left so did the US and allowed the Taliban to take control. You should know how that all played out.

So when you say you don’t care about the Kurds just remember what history has taught us about betraying our allies.

I actually don’t care at all about the Middle East and what happens there.

More on that Cease-fire article I posted earlier :

Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Thursday that they have reached a cease-fire agreement between Turkey and Kurds, following a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.

The deal is for a 120-hour cease-fire, during which time the Kurdish-led forces could pull back. All Turkish military operations under the recent offensive known as Operation Peace Spring will pause during that time, and the operation itself will come to an end upon the completion of the Kurdish withdrawal, under the terms of the deal. Pence said a safe zone between the two sides will be established.

“Turkey and the United States agree on the priority of respecting vulnerable human life, human rights, and particularly the protection of religious and ethnic communities in the region,” Pence said during a press conference while in Turkey.

It remains to be seen whether the Kurds will agree to the terms.

The Turkish offensive began after President Trump announced the withdrawal of American troops from northern Syria. Trump was heavily criticized for the move by lawmakers from both parties.

Last week, Trump sent a letter to Erdogan encouraging him to “work out a good deal,” threatening to “destroy” the Turkish economy if Erdogan continued his aggression against the Kurds.

“Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool!” Trump said, before stating that he would call Erdogan.

It was reported by the BBC Thursday that Erdogan “thoroughly rejected” the letter and threw it “in the bin,” but hours later Pence announced the potential cease fire.

Trump teased the news before the formal announcement.

"We think the agreement today first ends the violence, which is what President Trump sent us here to do," Pence said. "We achieved that."

Pence said that the U.S. did not approve of Turkey's military operation, but under the terms of the deal will lift sanctions against Turkey upon the fulfillment of the agreement from both sides.

>>> "Trump sent a letter" Oh did he now?

Anyway, I wonder what the Kurds do with this cease-fire. Will they pull back? That's the question.

How is it fake? [<diva2]

It actually has a transcript of Schiff and Volker speaking.

Nothing fake about that.

Uh huh, a "transcript" provided by who? No source is named. They are a notorious tabloid-level rag.

WH now admits There was a Quid Pro Quo - says 'Get over it!'

This was my post from the PRIOR thread.

----------

I and others have pointed out many times that this is following the typical path of Trump denial to admittance.

We are now moving into the stage of:

"OK SO THERE WAS A QUID PRO QUO BUT NOT THE ILLEGAL TYPE'

Feel free to mark these words down as all the Trumpbots pivot to this over the next few weeks after Ambassador Sondland testifies stating they were offering a quid pro quo but not the illegal kind. all the guys whose entire defense currently is based on 'NO quid pro quo' will soon be saying 'OK quid pro quo but the illegal kind'. All this despite the fact that no quid pro quo is required for POTUS to break the law. Just the request of foreign interference breaks the law.

What’s pathetic??? The fact that I’m not concerned with the same things as you??? That I don’t care about a group of people on the other side of the world that have absolutely no impact on me or my life???

if you care about the Kurds so much, do something to help them, until then, you’re just crying on a karate forum which isn’t helping anything.
THis is some good advice, you should share this with all the people crying over Lebron not saying anything negative about China and Hong Kong!

If you say so. {<shrug}

Who was the source of this "transcript"?

Can you provide any source for that publication being a legit news source?

It's not me saying so, there was no source and that is a tabloid. These are facts, not anyone's opinion.

Maybe you should start discussing facts, instead of trolling it up here.

Lets see how long the Trumpbots take to pivot to the new line 'ok there was a Quid Pro Quo but that happens all the time'.

The Ukrainian President on 4 different occasions stated that he was never pressured, though.

I don't know what the hell Mulvaney is smoking when he said that but it must've been some good shit.

Whatever you say, fogie. :)

Anyone read Sondland's opening statement? Sure sounds like QPQ to me.

Then why even bother trolling in these threads?

To be honest, I don't give a shit either (America First and all that) but just 'cause I don't care doesn't mean I'm not interested in what others think and say.

You can only hang out in one War Room thread too long before you need to find something new to digest and talk about.

lol so when the COF says something happened, you deny it and believe in the foreign leader instead?

Mulvaney is about to be fired for this though. One thing you cant do in the Trump Administration is tell the truth!

Sooo, no answer to my questions?

What was the source of this "transcript"?

A source for that publication being a legit news source?

Why won't you answer, I wonder? You aren't lying trough your teeth and trolling, are you?

You're talking to a guy who flatly rejects the Trump letter as fake. He will pick and chose what he believes as long as it fits his narrative.
