International Trump/Putin Summit

Why can't the right EVER admit when Trump screws up? I mean it's getting really comical and pathetic at this point. Trump could wash Putins feet and his supporters would just go along with it and call us liberals crybabies and make up arguments that no one is making. It's really unfortunate

You have no idea about high level diplomacy between 2 of the 3 world superpowers. You probably haven't had a conversation with someone of differing opinion outside of this forum. Also you are one of the brainwashed sheep who denounce anything the President does.

Still not convinced that Russia is now our biggest geopolitical threat. Certainly they were not back in 2012. What they did was find an opening with quislings in America. The call is coming from inside the house.
I get you (the answer is obviously China if we're talking about threats to our hegemony), but it's more the idea that we were so completely wrong as a political party about the direction US-Russia relations should take. They also have the most nukes and pose the most direct political and military threats to our best allies (NATO). In the short term they are more threatening, I'd say. I give Romney a pass on that comment because the apparent ridiculousness of it was totally at odds with the reality it suggested, and the left's reaction to it was cartoonishly wrong.

The old Left: We should stop with all these aggressive, militaristic foreign relations, & be more diplomatic instead

The new Left: WHY ARENT WE GOING TO WAR WITH RUSSIA & NORTH KOREA WTF

Literally no one is saying that.

I see no reason why we shouldn't seek a better relationship with Russia.
The real threat we are facing is China, and Russia would make a good ally in dealing with it. Also in fighting radical Islam, a common enemy.
The left certainly didn't mind when Hillary produced that ridiculous reset button, or when Obama got caught on mic saying after the election, we would be more flexible.

I have low expectations for the responses to this question, but can any of the Trumpsters explain what good relations with Russian even means or looks like?

I like @Fawlty @Jack V Savage and @HomerThompson , but you guys are all a classic, if differently 3-pronged example of how insane people can get when the topic is politics.

‘ Agree with me, or else: ’

A) you are not smart (says Jack)
B) you are not well-informed (says Fawlty)
C) you are a fucking idiot (says Homer)

I still love u guys
You clearly are not well informed. So, rather than "insane" it's just accurate.

lol... This is what I'm talking about. Trump just said he believes Putin over our intelligence agencies and you reply like a child. Something really bizarre going on with you "right wing patriots" that allows you to ignore the fact that Trump is inside the pocket of Putin yet because fake news and liberal tears you simply ignore it.

All I can say is if this ever happens to your side I will be the first to denounce it because I put my country over party and it's sad that you do not do the same

Putin and the Russians definitely have something on Don the Con, no other explanation for his behavior.

Sitting presidents are not political candidates backdooring the State Department.

But this does raise an issue nobody has wanted to face yet; that "collusion" in the 2020 election is going to be effectively legal, as long as certain lines are not crossed.

Strawman argument: dishonestly wording your opponent's position in an absurd, self serving way in order to burn it down easily

No you're an idiot there are only two options here.

Bend over a let Putin do whatever he wants around the world and to our Democracy or full scale thermonuclear war.

Nothing in between.

Just a daily reminder that Russia was not a problem until AFTER Hillary lost the election. "Russia meddling" was brought up to Obama and he buried and ignored it because he like every other Democrat thought Hillary had it in the bag.

You clearly are not well informed. So, rather than "insane" it's just accurate.

What’s your take on Putin / Russia these days? Simple enemies of ours, or more nuanced?

*intoning*
But Obama
But Obama
But Obama
But Obama

I know right? It's really bizarre how they argue.

Trump and his sheep are STILL talking about Hillary constantly. How insecure must you be to still be talking about the losing candidate almost 2 years after the election. lol

What does "a better relationship with Russia" look like?
