you rarely see open support for biden and his rallies are empty. and the democrats' messaging the last 8 years hasn't been "vote for us, we're doing good things!", it's "the other guy is evil, you can't vote for him, and he can't win".

This is a dumb move on the Trump Admin part, they had a lot of other people that have less baggage associated to villifying Trump. Ramaswamy was a better pick for him from the getgo. Even a random ass hail mary like Candace Owens would be a better bet.

It is not too hard to handle Kamala in debates. But they shot themselves in the foot by having a guy with so much anti-trump tags on him. It is too easy to skin him as a grifter.....

Vance brings three things to the table:

1. By far the smartest guy and best speaker of his potential choices.
2. Huge connections to tech money. Probably the reason for the Musk endorsement, and it brings Thiel fully on board.
3. Rust Belt ties.

IMO, Trump and others *greatly* overstate the importance of 1 and 2. VP picks don't generally matter much, but I think Vance will hurt more than he helps. How many Americans are going to want a potential president who wants people imprisoned for writing newspaper columns critical of Trump?

I mean, George HW Bush ran against Reagan in the primaries of 1980 and then went on to be Reagan’s VP. In the primaries, Bush famously criticized Reaganomics as “voodoo economics.” It was a big sound bite at the time.
