Thanks for tagging me. I haven’t paid much attention in the last few days, but going through the list I see some bad/questionable ones and some that don’t raise red flags.
RFK as Health and Human Services comes across as a bad joke. While I support his aim of addressing the use of additives and food processing, a vocal anti-vaxxer should not come within 10 miles of that office.
Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence has some potential. While IIRC I don’t believe that she has an intel background I do think that she’s very smart and understands the security issues that she’ll be dealing with.
Todd Blanche as Deputy AG is bad imo as he was too involved in the defense of Trump’s legal woes.
I’ll give a wait and see approach to Hegseth, as I think he should be given benefit of the doubt for now. As a former officer myself I can say that Maj is still a very junior rank in the big scheme of thing, so while he has experience at the tactical and operational level, it doesn’t grant him an understanding of strategic-level thinking. Of course this position has the benefit of having senior military advisors, but at the end of the day he will be required to make the decisions and see through the bias and senior level agendas.
I hope you’re doing well. I just moved near Sherbrooke this summer and loving every minute of it.
Cheers!
I like some of the stuff he says,
You like what he says?
I dont watch fox so not sure who this guy is or his credentials. Will say I didn't like Gaetz. Way to controversial. Will read up and report back. Some of the others I liked. Tulsi is fine and RFK I only like for crossing the isles. Not sure about him on some views. Definitely like the picks better than last time thoughIt was pretty obvious to me you were laying a trap to see how many people you could sucker into defending this pick.
I'm surprised so many took the bait, even here. Disappointed @Bob Gray walked into it, wonder what @Cajun thinks?
@Otto! , you're probably the most rational conservative I know on Sherdog, I hate to bother you but do you have an opinion on the nominations? To me it just feels like Trump is trolling the country.
Next time really, really try to understand what someone is saying before responding. If you're picking one half of a sentence out of someone's post to reply to, at least understand the meaning of that half a sentence.
If someone says they love dogs but hate Jews, who the hell cares that they love dogs?
I'm not saying Hegseth hates Jews, I'm just making an incredibly obvious point with a hypothetical.

You like what he says? He told Trump to pardon criminals that butchered women and children. He wanted to do a preemptive strike on a nuclear facility. He’s another insane evangelical that would let the whole world burn if it meant bringing the prophecy of end times. Listen to some of his speeches on Israel. Then there are his tattoos which are a clear indication he’s an extremist.
Looked up this guy and he doesnt seem that qualified. Great education and 2 bronze stars but a very odd choice being hes only a major and no real connection to Trump that I am aware. Will see if hes confirmed. Many of the other picks I'm good as I mentioned but I don't know this guy will command the respect with the lack of experience. In another thread I asked conservatives what they hoped for in the next four years, I'd love to hear your perspective.
I'm assuming reduced inflation and cost of living, and more affordable housing. I'm also assuming increased border security, including reductions in drug smuggling and human trafficking.
I'm less concerned with this confirmation unless you have a case to make that he's a good candidate, which feels unlikely. The GOP rejected him before he spent almost a decade doing nothing but host Fox.
Isn't manufacturing moving to countries close to them and they are experiencing instability with floods and instability with the CCP?China is a big issue. Not sure tariffs will work unless it is done by more than the US. But it's impossible to manufacture goods here due to the cheap labor with no benefits. Plus their stealing of IP is crazy. Not sure this one gets resolved though.
Def affects them. But in the states and other first world countries, it still creates massive amounts of issue where we cannot compete. Ultimately, they will continue on producing at much higher volumes with little to no worker pay or benefits. They are a massive machine imo. Far larger than those countries and an unlimited supply of manpower. I remember watching a 60min piece on the massive buildings where they just phish to gain IP. When I worked for a manufacturing co we didnt even really engage the chinese companies that would walk through trade shows picking up material off of the table to gain ideas. If we had sold anything to them they would just order one then reverse engineer the whole thing. Then proceed to rep the product out at a fraction and your own company collapses. Its a big deal because your only recourse is to fight them in world court so unless you are a massive corporation with lots of money and resources.Isn't manufacturing movie to countries close to them and they are experiencing instability with floods and instability with the CCP?
May I interest you in some healthcare reform, comrade? To carry my wife and kids for health insurance costs me 14k per year
LOL. No doubt I hate insurance companies. I'm ok with some reform there as well. At least a hard look.May I interest you in some healthcare reform, comrade?
your blue hair dye and “they/them” button is in the mail. Congrats on joining the losing side amigoLOL. No doubt I hate insurance companies. I'm ok with some reform there as well. At least a hard look.
About the insurance rate part, it strikes me as ridiculous that there are parts of your country where it is not mandatory to have insurance when operating a motor vehicle.Looked up this guy and he doesnt seem that qualified. Immigration is a big one in Texas. I remember hunting along the border in 2001 and you can hear them talking as they were walking across. The border is massive and it's an issue here. Car and health insurance rates are very high. To carry my wife and kids for health insurance costs me 14k per year which is another mortgage. Wrecks with uninsured causes higher car insurance rates as well. Houston where I live is the highest in human trafficking. Though it doesn't affect me in my day to day I hope the immigration stuff and focus on that results in a decrease. It's a real problem here.
It costs me more for food than clothes for my kids which seems rediculous. I cant spend less than 100.00 at the grocery store no matter what I buy. So obv inflation and daily living costs are up so I hope they come down. Housing is redic though some have come down since covid they are still very high. I work for a company servicing oil and gas so many of the LNG projects will come back online that were frozen.
Im also hoping some of the global conflicts get resolved. The world seems like it's going crazy atm. I'm hoping Trump's unpredictability will help. I've always thought that the UN has become useless as China and Russia will veto any actions not in their interests.

Overall I think Trump desires to go down as a successful president. This will push him to do things to help ensure that. Ultimately only time will tell and after 2 years, if he hasn't addressed enough of these issues then the pendulum will swing as it always does at mid-terms. He is really not liked by either party due to not being an establishment pick but let's see. Hope this answers your question.
Never heard this. It's illegal everywhere I know. But if you are not here legally then you can't and if your broke then you take a chance you don't get stopped and ticketedAbout the insurance rate part, it strikes me as ridiculous that there are parts of your country where it is not mandatory to have insurance when operating a motor vehicle.
Ok, so if you're really desperate to not get stopped and ticketed, are you likely to do anything that might result in an accident? Edit: likely, compared to, say, some pin dick arsehole in a big pickup with full insurance?Never heard this. It's illegal everywhere I know. New Hampshire it isn’t required, but you have to prove you’ve got the cash to cover an accidentNever heard this. It's illegal everywhere I know
