Law Hegseth shared detailed military plans in second Signal chat that included his wife and brother

We did read your OP. It lacks details, source information, and has all the hallmarks of Fake News.

How are you going to feel when you learn the "brother and lawyer" are both on staff with the Pentagon and allowed on the call, so their inclusion was simply to upset non-critical thinkers, like you? Feeling dumb?

How are you going to feel when you realize that his wife, does an intro with Pete and then bails off the calls and that's how they have done it in the past... and that it has NOT been confirmed that she was even present for this call.

The only content details was the same information as the previous Signal Chat, which included nothing worthwhile.

You Lefties should be cautious of anonymous sources at this point.

I mean in the last thread the source was literally the Trump administration testifying in congress and you didn't believe it so you do have rather a high bar.

This administration would be hilarious if it was a sitcom. Living through it is just depressing.

Recruitment is doing good. Retention is ass.

Yeah, aside from the USMC.

Why do you think that is?

Propaganda.

People are simple, and young men are particularly impressionable. A lot of the answers can be found in Hegseth's address at the AWC this morning. That's not to say tangible shifts in culture, focus, and priorities haven't been taking place. A lot of promises have actually been kept during this Admin (for better, worse, or horrid). Let's see how it holds up after a year or two.

Partly the reason. Enlisting is typically part of family heritage and or someone trying to elevate themselves out of a financial class. Even a portion of them are non-nationals enlisting for US citizenship.

It's a huge reason. This isn't a coincidence.

Hear me out- I’d wager when the economy becomes uncertain and shit gets too expensive for poor folks to get by, enlistment goes up.

I’d also be curious to see how enlistment numbers go with the “male loneliness epidemic” numbers too.

Even we are below our retention goals unfortunately. Big push is going on to bolster SMCR and AR to keep retention where it needs to be.

I think all branches will keep meeting quota but I don't expect any growth

Yeah, but it certainly isn't "ass" relative to the other service branches (lol). Y'all just 'crushed' the retention goal for FY24.

It's also the only DOD component to pass consecutive independent audits. You love to see it.

Economy is biggest reason i feel, since peace time mil is a very secure job

I always say that if A.I becomes big and takes out jobs then military will get big enlistment numbers

Nothing can replace good old grunt infantry except a terminator
