International In the midst of a military recruitment crisis, Trump admin/Secretary Hegseth are banning shaving waivers for troops with skin irritation/scar issues

Be real. One demographic alone used the "shaving profile" crap to be special. 9/10 the guy riding that profile was doing extra duty for an Article 15.

So have you ever fought fire shipboard. Because I can tell you its a hell of a lot different then the smoke chamber in boot.

But you guys now have a lot better masks and equipment then we did so the mask may seal better.

We had the old OBDs which were shit. My ship got to find out the canisters did in fact have a shelf life, in a real fire no less. I personally found out if you were lucky and a good bit of luck you could get in oily water and not explode your chest off.

Geared up for a few threatened main space fires bit the snipes secured the spraying shit. Thank God because I was the ATL and right behind the nozzleman...and it was 12-14 footers and we lost propulsion on one of them....blech

Did go to a really great commercial marine fire school where they lit actual Bravo fires in bilges, with all the heat flames and smoke...much better than the shitty propane fueled simulators at your average CG or Navy shipboard DC school

Only time I used an OBAs was basic training in '02 and by the time I got to my first ship it was SCBAs

Yea I went to Navy basic firefighting then to advanced firefighting. This was in the old days when they actually light Bravo fires in closed spaces for you to fight. Then advanced we did search and rescue where among other things we had to walk through jet fuel fires in the suit to rescue "the crew".

In two real fires shipboard. One small one and one huge one. I was on the Kennedy when it and the Belknap banged it up. That was a hell of a night.

There was a military recruitment crisis while Biden was in office. Biden and the Democrats woke policies were keeping many white people from joining the military. That was due to Biden's woke policies that to often held negative views on white people.

Since Trump came into office, from what I've, recruitment is way up. Trump did away with the woke policies. As a result recruitment goals have been met.

A big problem that remains though is the large number of youth that are out of shape, and not able to pass military fitness testing.

Crisis Behind Military Recruitment Success: America’s Youth Increasingly Unfit to Serve

This year, under President Trump and Secretary Hegseth, the U.S. Army hit its annual recruiting goal, surpassing targets months ahead of schedule. This marks a remarkable turnaround from the recruitment crisis under President Biden. However, while these gains are significant for meeting peacetime force levels, they obscure a deeper and more alarming reality: in the event of a major war or mass conscription, the vast majority of America’s youth are physically or medically unfit for military service.

A Pentagon man-power-availability study determined that only 23 percent of Americans aged 17 to 24 qualify for military service without a waiver, down from 30 percent just a decade ago. While the military currently meets its recruitment goals through aggressive outreach, expanded waivers, and by targeting a shrinking pool of eligible youth, this model would not be sustainable in the event of a major conflict, such as a war with China.....

Which policies, specifically kept white people from joining the military?
That was due to Biden's woke policies that to often held negative views on white people.
Which policies held negative views on white people? How exactly can a policy hold a viewpoint?

They weren’t going to meet their recruitment goals so they lowered their target number.

Coming out strong from his temp ban with a vaguely racist post. Solid power play

Well I was in the Army and there were a few white guys with shaving profiles but mostly black and hispanics had them. I had one only because I'd sometimes forget to shave and get in trouble get a profile problem solved. Funny enough the first time I tried to get one the doctor prescribed me some cream bullshit.

The most I can shave without fucking up my face is about once a week. I don't have what it takes to serve apparently. :(

I've been using a beard trimmer with no guard for the past 15 years or so. It's never a close shave, but it's good enough, and I don't get razor bumps anymore.

- The same. I used to shave every two days. But i think i got sensible as i aged. Now i just trim, shave ounce per week. To be honest, they ask we to not show to work with a bear, but isnt like they care if we trim. Just dont go looking like those caveman from the Thunderlizards cartoon

Same. I shave my neck about once a week or so now and just trim the beard. I went over 40 years with a clean face and then bam, just like that I'm beard guy now lol.

Even that irritates my skin. Once I got old I just gave up and started rocking a beard. I don't need to have the moneymaker on display full time anymore.
