Law Trump just pardoned 1.5k rioters and Proud Boys.....

Yeah like how in trading police taser themselves so they can see and feel the affects. There’s videos online

It’s not a stupid thought Andy.

But nice try. Continue to respond with lol when you just failed to see something that doesn’t totally fit your agenda.
Napalming a dog in the 70s as an anti nuclear display is a pretty stupid thought.

Yeah, absolutely. Can we also agree to not gaslight each other by downplaying the BLM riots while exaggerating the events of January 6th?

Absolutely not, or at least not what you're calling gaslighting. The fact you're calling anything a "BLM riot" shows how little you care about the truth. Were the Rodney King riots also BLM?

You point at anyone or any group of people committing a crime, and if there's sufficient evidence I'll admit they're guilty. You know that's true. Anyone who committed a crime during the George Floyd riots deserved to be prosecuted, and you guys act like they weren't. You point to ten thousand people who were scooped up during the protests and then released without charge, while completely ignoring the fact those people had committed no crime. Plenty of people were charged and convicted, but you only mention the black people "who got away".

You know why most liberals fucking HATE Antifa? Because they're mostly a bunch of useless tools who just give the right an excuse to handwave actual mayhem, like the right wing extremist militia groups who were blowing up power stations a couple of years ago. One of those groups made major press when they did it on behalf of an evangelical group in order to stop a drag queen story hour, it put tens of thousands out of power in the middle of winter.

You guys rage about BLM corruption but your standard bearer is a guy who was banned from running a charity in New York because he stole from a charity for kids with cancer. A guy who is in the middle of running one of the most effective crypto scams of all time.

Conservatives pardon people who share their beliefs, like Abbott pardoning that guy who shot and killed the BLM activist. The guy was convicted and after the fact it came out that he had told people in advance he was going to do it, but that didn't matter to Abbott and it doesn't seem to matter to you.

TLDR: You name a guy who should have been incarcerated, and if it seems you're right I'll say so. The difference is I won't have the genetic compulsion to point to someone else and say "what about that guy" as if it excuses the first guy.

No Andy this is a you problem. You’re Eric cart man from South Park when he thinks he’s doing the right thing and he knows best.

Have a nice day.

The guys who shot Antonio Mays Jr. and then covered it up in the same way they protest the police doing.

I know very little about the case.

What should happen now that isn't happening?

Are you suggesting one cover up excuses the others?

Why are you intentionally being dumb? The topic was about the CHAZ shooters getting away with it scot-free because mayor Durkan didn't want to go against the political will of the BLM riots. The troll came in and gaslit about BLM = Bureau of Land Management and conflated with the Bundy cans that got into a shootout and died. Mr. Holmes said both are bad and one doesn't justify the other. You then wrote some diatribe about how corruption in favor of BLM isn't real.

No one is talking about one cover up justifying another except the Bureau of Land Management troll and indirectly you by whataboutisming why the BLM riots are fine.

Absolutely not to what?

No, but they're similar.

Anyone who committed a crime during the George Floyd riots deserved to be prosecuted, and you guys act like they weren't.
We act like they weren't because they mostly weren't. As far as I know nobody was arrested for what happened at CHAZ despite the insurrectionists being on video. As well as, leftist DAs dropping charges all over the country.

Conservatives pardon people who share their beliefs, like Abbott pardoning that guy who shot and killed the BLM activist. The guy was convicted and after the fact it came out that he had told people in advance he was going to do it, but that didn't matter to Abbott and it doesn't seem to matter to you.
Abbot pardoned that guy because the prosecution wasn't inline with Texas values i.e. stand your ground. IRCC a bunch of Texas DAs signed something stating they didn't agree with the judgement. Maybe if the dipshit listened to police officers when they warned him about pointing his gun at strangers he would still be alive.

The difference is I won't have the genetic compulsion to point to someone else and say "what about that guy" as if it excuses the first guy.
For the rest of us, we recognize having a fair and balanced justice system is critical to a free society. So its absolutely relevant to ask why government treated these 2 cases of civil disobedience differently.

Just so we're clear, this thread is about Jan 6 and you're accusing me of whatabouting a whatabout.

Thanks for the excellent reply, I appreciate how thorough and polite you were.

I don't have the time or energy to properly discuss these points, but you have definitely given me a lot to think about.

Read the guys posts, read yours.

He is taking a reasonable middle ground whilst you are railing about one side abusing the pardon system whilst absolving your side of doing the same. Your hypocrisy is stark and embarrassing. A 6 year old can see it.
Bob is respectful enough to discuss things with, but his POV is not reasonable, it’s wrong. He’s going on about people being sentenced to multiple years in prison solely for trespassing, which is not a thing that happened. I’ve posted a ton of case data from the J6 convictions and sentences that clearly show this.

Both sets of pardons stretch the limits or purposes of the pardon power. I’d love to be living in a country where neither happened. But Trump stretches the limits of his to either keep his cronies mouths shut so they don’t rat on his crimes (e.g. his Manafort and Stone pardons), or to justify his own crimes and ingratiate himself to armed private psychopath militias that he wants to use to terrorize people (e.g. his Proud Boys/ J6 pardons).
—He stretches the limits for criminality and harm, we stretch the limits to protect innocent people in the face of Trump’s abuses.
Sometimes you have to do things like that to protect people and do the right thing, and to say both things are equivalent simply because both stretch the limits of the pardon power would be wrong.

I asked a question you goofer.

You are looking for the same answer.

The event was manipulated by the media.

So who was violent, what happened, and are they pardoned?

And what kind of violence was used? Fists? Do they deserve years in prison for that?

My question is getting to the truth of what really happened, not the media's version of truth.

How many of these guys were actually violent and what exactly did they do?
What about the dude (Daniel Rodriguez)who tazed that cop repeatedly until the cop had a heart attack? Then bragged about it? Or David Dempsey, who assaulted various police officers for over an hour. He gave one officer a concussion, and deployed bear spray inside another officers mask (the officer testified that he thought he was going to die).
—Yes, they were pardoned.

Trump supporters assaulted 174 police that day. Some are still in therapy today, 4 committed suicide within a couple of months after, some had to quit the force because they could no longer pass the physical due to the permanent injuries they suffered.
The only “media manipulation” that happened was right wing outlets getting people to believe that “a bunch of people in costumes walked around.”

Agree.
Some people should not have been pardoned. Also some people should not have been put in prison.

The media manipulated the event. We had some violence, those people deserve jail without pardons.

But my understanding is some goofballs were just way over the top Trump fans, dressed in silly outfits, walking around the capitol, these people didn't do anything.

The courts jailed everyone, Trump pardoned everyone, both wrong.
