This has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard... sure California does have water pipelines that flow from the north, but the idea that they aren't using them to capacity is laughable.

If we take his proposition realistically, he's talking about building a massive 1000 mile long water pipeline from the PNW to socal.

And saying that could be done in a day.

The insanity of that infrastructure project aside, taking out the melt water that fills the rivers in Washington and Oregon would be environmentally devastating and would have an immense negative effect on commercial salmon fishing.

Among other things. Imagine: instead of a drought in an area prone to them it would be a drought in a rain forest. Awesome plan.

The environmental aspects need to be looked at. Obv he doesn't mean a day to construct. He exaggerates to say it can be done expeditiously. It's why I think desalination is a better idea or a combination but ultimately looking at how to solve some of the california issues are valid. The 2020 California fires wiped out 18 years of all the state did on carbon initiatives according to a study. Nothing was done post fires. So if environment is a thing for California then it's in their best interest to getting them under control. To do nothing or provide any ideas to control them or assist in the droughts just wait on the next one doesnt make sense. I mentioned the Mississippi that pushes 4M gallons of water into the gulf every second and we divert the river to keep flood zones in check. There are peeps more knowledgeable than me but there should be some ideas on it.

Trump literally believes if you buy a good or service from another person you are subsidizing that person.

Trump literally believes that when he puts Tariffs on a good, it is the country of origin that pays it and not the US company importing it.

So again i ask 'is it dementia or stupidity', as those two plus the pipeline in 24hrs are not something anyone sane or smart would say.
