The GA investigation as well as Jack Smith’s Jan 6 investigation were ongoing before Trump ever announced he was running again. In fact, I’d argue he only ran again to shield himself from prosecution.

Jack Smith’s wasn’t even made Special Counsel until Nov 2022. Considering he was taking over 2 complicated pre-existing investigations (classified docs and Jan 6), he actually moved very quickly and efficiently.

So now we continue with a political tale as old as time: Trump will get away free while everyone around him goes down just like Nixon and Reagan did.

None of what you said here is true.

The DOJ has a longstanding policy of not prosecuting a sitting POTUS, and obviously Trump’s loyalist DOJ never would anyway. These charges aren’t being dismissed because they “aren’t useful,” they’re being dismissed because it’s literally impossible to prosecute him for the next 4 years.
