Elections Trump Indicted On 91 Counts

why do local judges do whatever the hell they want? it's like they say i'm biased, oh well, you can always appeal. it's like higher up judges care more about the constitution or proper procedure than local goons.

We have an appeal process for this type of bullshit.

So what is the lost revenue from taxes ?

Everyone can cheat on their taxes and not get into trouble?

Are we really at the final form of defense, "even if he did do it, it's not that bad" ?

The judge already proved himself a liar and weirdo, but even worse... political.

And BTW, Deutsche Bank actually knew he was inflating his assets. The bank as a whole didn't know certain sections were doing business with him, and in fact flipped out when they found out, after the stunt he pulled with the earlier $640 million loan. One of the people doing business with Trump, Tom Bowers, who was the gatekeeper for financial documents tied to Donald Trump, hung himself in 2019. The other major one is Rosemary Vrablic, who also gave hundreds of millions in loans to Kushner, and bought an apartment from him. She also was backing Trump in 2014 when he bid $1 billion for the Buffalo Bills, which failed.

Trump made claims about how valuable his assets to Deutsche Bank, and they decided their real value was about 70% less, then gave him hundreds of millions in loans anyway. The interest they charged? We're not sure, but Trump told another D Bank employee, who wasn't working with Vrablic on the Trump deals, that it was well under 3%, which is absurdly low, especially considering Trump's past.

The first time ever this law was used in this way. Just like that insane Civil Sexual Assault case. You goofs have made the man a martyr and likely next President.

Its pretty clear that this is fraudulent. Whether it's the first time it's ever been used against a wealthy person or not.

Look at you. It's not just that you're biased, it's that you're completely misinformed. Trump was already found liable for fraud back in September, and you just found that out yesterday.

Yet here you are talking about proper procedure, as if you're sitting there, going over this case with a fine-toothed comb, lmao.

i'm not pretending anything. doesn't it seem that higher-up judges care more about due process than shitty local ones?

He's proudly and completely divorced from reality, and apparently gets some kind of secondary gain from refusing to be persuaded on how the universe actually is.

first time ever against the most target man in the country by a DA who ran for office on getting him. be fair...we can make fun of each other later, but this doesn't reek like targeted political prosecution to you?

you never answered the question. is this a politically targeted prosecution or not?

also, dems dumped cuomo after he was no longer useful, so no surprise there, and they're probably gonna do it to biden and hoping he actually gets impeached so they have a good excuse to get rid of him.

Judge in classified documents case rejects Trump's request to delay May trial date

Judge Aileen Cannon had announced in July that the trial would begin May 20 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

A federal judge on Friday declined former President Donald Trump’s request to postpone the May start date of the trial in the special counsel’s classified documents case.

In a new court filing Friday, Judge Aileen Cannon left open the possibility of pushing back the trial date at a later date, saying she will consider the issue when the parties meet for a March 1 scheduling conference.

The decision deals a short-term blow to Trump, who had sought to push the trial back amid the cascading demands of his civil and criminal cases in New York, Florida and Washington, D.C.

Yet Cannon acknowledged “an unusually high volume” of unclassified and classified discovery and the challenge of accessing certain materials, a point that Trump’s defense has argued as they press for more time.

Due process requires more time for the defendants to review the materials, Cannon said.

The judge pushed several pretrial deadlines as the two sides negotiate the handling of classified discovery in the case.

Cannon had paused pretrial litigation on the use of some classified materials as she weighed the request from Trump over the timing of the trial. The defense had asked for an extension of several months, citing delays in accessing legal materials for the case.

Trump’s attorneys had also asked Cannon to consider their request that the trial take place after the 2024 election. The judge overseeing a separate case into Trump’s alleged efforts to hold on to power after the 2020 election denied a similar request by his defense to postpone a trial.

Cannon had announced in July that the trial would begin May 20 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

oof. i still think cheeto benito's pet judge wants to play games. wait until march and then push it back even further but who knows?

That's exactly what she wants to do.

Wahhh, Wahhh, WAHHH!!!!

The AG is the chief legal officer of the state. "I'm going to bring a massive criminal to justice" is supposed to be bad?

She's the one who released a report on Governor Cuomo's sexual harassment. Were you crying and pooping your pants about "targeted political prosecution" over that as well?!

The women gets shit done. Let me refresh your memory:

Donald J. Trump Pays Court-Ordered $2 Million For Illegally Using Trump Foundation Funds (ny.gov)

Trump Ordered to Pay Eight Separate Charities $250,000 Each

Remaining $1.8 Million in Trump Foundation Bank Account Disbursed Among Charities

NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today released the following statement after Donald J. Trump was forced to pay more than $2 million in court-ordered damages to eight different charities for illegally misusing charitable funds at the Trump Foundation for political purposes:

“Not only has the Trump Foundation shut down for its misconduct, but the president has been forced to pay $2 million for misusing charitable funds for his own political gain. Charities are not a means to an end, which is why these damages speak to the president’s abuse of power and represent a victory for not-for-profits that follow the law. Funds have finally gone where they deserve — to eight credible charities. My office will continue to fight for accountability because no one is above the law — not a businessman, not a candidate for office, and not even the president of the United States.”

As part of a resolution of the lawsuit announced on November 7th, Trump was ordered to pay $2 million, or $250,000, a piece to eight different charities. Those charities are Army Emergency Relief, the Children’s Aid Society, Citymeals-on-Wheels, Give an Hour, Martha’s Table, the United Negro College Fund, the United Way of National Capital Area, and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. Additionally, Trump was forced to reimburse his namesake foundation $11,525 for sports paraphernalia and champagne purchased at a charity gala, which was added to $1,797,598.30 already in the foundation’s bank account. The combined $1,809,123.30 was split evenly and recently transferred to the eight agreed upon charities. Each charity ended up receiving a total of $476,140.41.

Additionally, as part of the settlement, Trump was required to agree to 19 admissions, acknowledging his personal misuse of funds at the Trump Foundation, and agreed to restrictions on future charitable service and ongoing reporting to the Office of the Attorney General, in the event he creates a new charity. The settlement also included mandatory training requirements for Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump, which the three children have already undergone. Finally, the settlement required the Trump Foundation to shutter its doors last December and dissolve under court supervision.

A political figure being prosecuted does not equal a political prosecution
You're like Michael Scott claiming he was the victim of a hate crime because he hated it
