Personally I think he absolutely would have been, as evidenced by the numerous times he has been already right in New York. People are saying in this thread (I haven't looked anywhere else) that his crimes were stupid arrogant and obvious.

I also don't think she should calm people down. If investors don't want to do business in New York because they aren't allowed to defraud there. then my (almost certainly naive) take is "fuck them".

I know how prevalent real estate fraud is, if only thanks to that New York "right to repair" computer guy who's always complaining about Apple. didnt they just conclude their investigation the other week and determine that he had committed no crime and no charges were warranted? i dont know why anybody would want to charge anyone if no crime was ever found to have been committed and they were not found to have been involved in any crime. that would be a banana republic.

now if brandon stolen classified documents and hid them next to his shitter and then lied to the courts about having them....or if he was caught using some campaign funds to try to silence some whore that he cheated on his wife with, or if he rounded up his partners in crime and then started harassing poll workers and sending fraudulent electors to the capitol while trying to defraud his country and the election system, then yeah, charge him!

The Wisconsin Ethics Commission said it found probable cause that Trump’s Save America committee — as well as several state and local Republican officials — committed felonies, recommending that district attorneys look into the allegations and prosecute them. It’s rare for such panels to pursue serious charges, according to The Washington Post.

The panel alleged that during a 2022 primary for the Wisconsin Assembly in which Vos was running, the Trump PAC donated to county parties, which illegally steered the money to support Vos’s primary challenger. While individuals can only give a maximum of $1,000 to individual candidates, there is no cap on donations to political parties.

If district attorneys don’t act on the panel’s recommendation within 60 days, the Wisconsin panel can refer the request for prosecution to the state’s Attorney General, Josh Kaul. At least one DA told The Post she would make a decision quickly.

Trump owes Carroll $83.3 million for defaming her in 2019 when she first accused him of sexual assault. The former president had 30 days to either pay the damages or post a bond required by New York state law to appeal the decision. But Trump’s legal team filed a motion on Friday to delay payment.

“Having argued to the jury that President Trump has great financial resources, Plaintiff is in no position to contradict herself now and contend that she requires the protection of a bond during the brief period while post-trial motions are pending,” Trump’s lawyers wrote.

They argued that Trump’s extreme wealth was security enough that he would eventually pay. The lawyers also suggested that the court project that the total judgment would be reduced on appeal to $22.25 million, requiring a bond of about $24.48 million...

Under New York law, if a person wants to appeal a civil case ruling, they must first post a bond equal to 110 percent of the judgment. In this case, Trump would have to pay $91.63 million in order to appeal the Carroll ruling.
