She has already responded. Basically paraphrased saying that Trump is an idiot and is starting a trade war and that Mexico will slap tariffs on everything coming from America into Mexico too so that everybody loses because Trump is an idiot.

She also corrected Trump on the gun issue as our own data shows that 70% of guns confiscated at the border are coming from America into Mexico and not the other way around.

In fairness the blanket tariffs are such an obviously horrible idea that its possible there will be enough adults in the room to mitigate whatever damage Trump's tariffs might do to the economy. If levying tariffs causes our prices to go up and causes economic distress internally, why would Mexico follow suit by retaliating with them against the US and causing those issues against themselves?

As deterrence and leverage. That way Mexico can say, hey, we'll end our tariffs when you do.

I'm not a fan of the US putting tariffs on us. But our border security is dog shit. Also, lumping us in with Mexico? Come on.

The US knows the Vermont/NY-Québec routes. They have for years and have done nothing about it. It's a shared responsibility.
