Elections Trump calls for probe of famed Iowa pollster J. Ann Selzer after she quits role

Should Ann Selzer be investigated?

  • Yes

  • No

Results are only viewable after voting.
Trump should be investigated for it if it's considered in a court of law that his saying what he said led to harm to this woman.
It's one thing to say she shouldn't be investigated....

But how do you feel about Trump, the president elect, making false claims about election fraud towards a pollster?

You think it's no big deal on Trump's end?

So are you OK with it?

I mean, we've been feigning horror for how many years now over Russian memes influencing the election but this is OK?

Well yea.

The pollster had used the same metholgy in previous elections.

Polling is never going to be correct. It is a small sample extrapolated to a large population. Not every sample you get is going to be good. Weighting polls isn't always accurate.

There are lots of reasons polls can be wrong when you are trying to get a snapshot of how an entire state of people are going to vote.

I don't really understand how you equate a foreign country flooding our social media spaces with lies and disinformation as being similar to a shitty poll? Democrats and Republicans both publish garbage ass polls every election that they pay for and have done so for decades. Ann Seltzer is an independent pollster who takes money from neither side.

If you aren't okay with a bad poll, then what is the alternative? Are you going to say that pollsters have to be within a certain margin of error or they will go to jail?

I mean, are you not okay with Ann Seltzer publishing a shitty poll...but are totally okay with Trump calling up Georgia and saying "I need you to find me 11,000 votes?"

Nah, Trump will have bigger fish to fry once he's sworn in. Selzer ruined her reputation and retired in shame. This failure will be all she's remembered for and I'm fine with that. Even though it's obvious why she released that poll, there's no need wasting resources on her.

I think he has some justifiable anger after all the democrats put him through with their corrupt DOJ

Funny how the polls that seem to favor the democrats are always so far removed from reality.

That is true the adults are back, no more men can get pregnant, safe spaces, censorship because you can't handle or combat a counter talking point..
LMAO

"The adults are back," says the guy with the double yellow card.

Your meltdown since the election has been particularly enjoyable to watch.
Meltdown? I'm not even American. I think it's sad what you've done to yourselves and I'm concerned about how a Trump presidency will affect the Canadian economy, particularly the threat of more tariffs, but lol @ the idea I'm any more "melted down" than usual.

Funny how your comment was entirely irrelevant to what I said in that post though. It looks to me like you're triggered and deflecting at the same time and the post wasn't even directed at you. I suggest you examine the reason for that LOL

Trump has a long history going back decades before he became a politician to threaten lawsuits as a means to curve harmful headlines putting him in a negative light.
Don't you think that reflects poorly on his character and on his lack of commitment to free speech?
I just said she shouldnt be investigated
So yes you do think its problematic for president-elect Trump to threaten a pollster? A threat to free speech one might say, no?
