The withholding order just limited it so he couldn't be sent to El Salvador only. So the only part where Trump's administration messed up is the formality of getting the withholding order removed.

And the withholding order would easily have been removed because the threat he originally cited, Barrio-18, no longer exists.

This guy was supposed to be deported, had an existing deportation order this entire time (contrary to all the media reports crying that he is legally in the country), is a wife beater, is probably a gang member, and the only thing stopping it was an order saying don't send him to El Salvador. And even when he was initially arrested in 2019, he was with two other MS-13 gang members.

So who fucking cares. I can give two fucks about an MS-13 gang member who beats his wife and has an existing deportation order and is only staying in due to a small technicality.

It's not a "small formality"; this is due process, and the result of their error was to send a guy directly to prison - without even being charged- in the one country he wasn't supposed to be sent. Due process is important specifically so shit like this doesn't happen, and it doesn't actually matter who it happens to.
