1. Outstruck. And, of course, striking is not the only factor in MMA. So an inferior striker with good grappling can sometimes land a lot more shots against a fighter with poor TDD. This would be the case in the single fight you reference.
2. You have proof that God put in an appearance?
3. His body of work is still relatively small compared to many other people in the UFC with skilled striking.

Who needs elbows and kicks when you have dynamite hands. Now I will say the OP should have differentiated striking with boxing. Ilia is the greatest boxer in the UFC of all time. Striker, maybe in the future. Lets see. But the eye test NEVER LIES.
