Best MW’s of all time

You’re very dishonest about Usman. Historically WW have done incredibly well at MW ( GSP, Whittaker, Khamzat). One could even argue WW>MW. Usman is a huge WW and definitely is an elite win even at MW. Khamzat also effortlessly dispatched Holland who was a top10 MW not long ago. You’re grasping straws. For anyone without an agenda it’s clear Khamzat is the best.

What do you have against Strickland? He has a great resume- Izzy, Costa, Imavov, Hall, Hermansson, Allen, Abus Magomedov. He went to split decisions with DDP and Cannonier and got finished by Poatan. No shame in that
Usman is a good win just because he’s Usman, but he’s not a natural MW, has no resume at that weight class, took the fight on short notice, and is probably past his best anyhow. It’s a solid win, but let’s slow our roll a bit.

I just don’t think Strickland has an all time great resume. You’re shitting on Rockhold, but his resume is substantially better than Strickland’s: Jacare, Jardine, Tim Kennedy, Boetsch, Bisping, Lyoto, Weidman, even Phillipou. He was Strikeforce MW Champ (2 defenses), and UFC MW Champ (0 defenses). Rockhold has a far better argument for being a top 10 MW all time than Strickland does.

As much as it pains me to say this, 2012-2106 Rockhold would ragdoll Poatan if he stuck to a grappling plan.
Rockhold is very good, but i think his ego would get the best of him and try to stand with Pereira, mine you Rockhold was shitting on Pereira for a bit but even on the Jaxxon podcast he admitted that the Alex that went on the LHW title run probably beats him.
People forget about Strikeforce Rockhold. He ruled Strikeforce when they had better MW fighters than the UFC.
That’s a myth, almost as bad as Strikeforce having the better HW Division also.
Rockhold beat one S tier opponent in Strikeforce and that is Jacare. Saying he ruled Strikeforce MW division when he only beat one person who was great is a little hyperbole. Either way, Rockhold proved his worth and he is a great fighter.
Under slightly different circumstances (no TRT Vitor), he might have been the one to dethrone Anderson.
I agree, i think stylistically, yes.

Anderson 16 title fights in UFC at MW, Khamzat 0 title defenses lol. Lets have this discussion if he can even get double figures of title defenses which he won't

I prefer to rank achievement - and context counts.

Silva is clearly number one.

Hendo possesses one of the finest collection of scalps in the history of the sport.

He only ever subbed (talking about top 5 opponents) from his back Chael Sonnen (who didnt understand the rules at the time and tapped by mistake) who got subbed like 10 times in his career

He is not beating Khamzat on the ground lmfao

tbf he doesnt really even need to sub khamzat, all he would've need to do is pull guard and not be a invisible belt like dricus

I get what you are saying Strikeforce was hyped up but saying it was better than the UFC is not saying much more than things were pulled thin between the two. For example, they might have four of the top 10 MW at the time compared to the UFC with 3, and the remaining three in other orgs. The things that the UFC had is the strength of their depth. But that us just my take, and I think you could make strong case for what you are saying too.

*Never mind, I just googled yearly ratings and 8 out 10 were in the UFC and the remaining 2 were Jacare and Rockhold. I think I might have been lumping Hendo in their but he was probably still LHW.

Middleweight title defences in the UFC:

Anderson Silva - 10
Izzy - 5
Weidman - 3
Rich Franklin - 2
Dricus Du Plessis - 2
Bisping - 1
Murilo Bustamante - 1

Some of those other guys you mention have had a few good fights though for sure.
