Todays photo of 185lbs Nick Diaz

Looks good…. Just kinda sketchy how last second the rules were flipped.

Hope Lawler is properly compensated and we get a scrap for the ages!
I think if you know Diaz at all, it is not sketchy. He, or his manager, likely agreed to a WW fight tho Diaz had no intentions to do so whatsoever, likely as the UFC wanted the Lawler rematch and felt doing so at 185 was pointless. He has been like this for ages, it is nothing new and he simply he thinks he deserves his own set of rules and the ability to change them whenever he wants.

Wouldn't surprise if Diaz manages to weigh in more than 186 at this point.

That photo is deceiving.

He looks fat and slow.

Huge Diaz brothers fan but I gotta keep it real, I'm scared nick is gonna look like BJ Penn and not be able to pull the trigger. Too many shots traded over the years.

I liked robbies chances at any weight. But the fact diaz pussed out on the agreed upon weight, I do like Lawlers chances even more so.
then why are you so upset? Im just excited to see a banger.. i wouldnt give a fuck if they fought at HW on a days notice. im a fight fan. Now if robbie didnt agree to MW.. id be pissed at both guys

He looks okayish to me. Little more fat than usual but with his style it might not make that big of difference. The big question being can he take punches and recover like he used to. Wont learn it from watching shadowbox videos or photos.
Stylistically its as good as it gets for him. Robbie the big hooker with little to none offensive wrestling and he doesnt really kick a leg either.

Keep in mind, even when he was partying nonstop the guy is a vegan who only shops at Wholefoods.

He was hammering vodka sodas not McDonalds and would go on the occasional run lol
Vegan or pescatarian? I thought he eats fish.

He looks about the same as he always did, just has a beard. I think a guy who’s style relied on cardio and volume, may have more longevity than a brawler who took damage to give it. We shall see. Loved watching nick in his prime.

It seems like it. I also thought the same, but at least she's not wearing a hoodie and looking around with a half deadpan face as if someone is boring her.

BTW, she seems far better than most thots that hang around MMA fighters. Good for him!
Yeah looks like they are made for each other!

People have been clamoring for him to fight for years, if he wins there's no question he'll get a title shot. I won't watch because it won't be competitive but I dont mind them throwing the fans a bone here and there if they keep most the title fights competitive which i think they do.

I wouldn't want to watch it if I thought the was going to get hurt.

Have to see how he looks moving around.

I believe he does eat fish, but I don't know how often.

I disagree he looks the same as he always did, especially in the video. He's heavier and softer, even compared to when he fought Silva. There is no way in the world he was going to make 171lbs this week, that dieting would have needed to take place over the last 4-6 weeks.

This exact video is also in the first post just below the photo, if you missed it.

For what its worth, he ALWAYS looks slow like this shadow boxing. So does Nate. This is just how they do it.

He definitely looks overweight and there is zero chance he could have made 171lbs this week. It wasn't possible to cut from his body fat % so you have to guess if he decided not to diet the past month or got sick / injured. Who knows until he clarifies.

The photo looked similar. I just saw the Video, and he does not look good at all.

I hope they get Diaz his actual size for the fight cause those shorts are SMALL

Feel bad for Robbie. Dude had already been cutting weight and it looks like Nick hadn't. It is what it is tho.

Conor hasn't won a fight at lightweight since 2016 and he's somehow ranked in the division. He got knocked out by Poirer in the second round with zero controversy and they immediately ran a rematch.

Nick fought GSP coming off a LOSS to Condit.

The UFC runs this thing like the circus coming to town, not a sport. If it were up to me I'd make rankings based on a formula and matches based on brackets, but I didn't have a few billion to buy it so they do as they please.

Be ZERO surprised if they put together Nick vs Usman if he pulls out a big win. Of course it wouldn't be fair or make sense, but that is irrelevant under the current management.

I'm sure as soon as I post this you'll find a better example, BUT...

Nick fought GSP coming off a loss to Condit....but after Condit lost the interim/unified title fight to GSP. And, the Condit/Nick fight was very close, highly contested, and a lot of people came away from that "L" with more respect for Nick than Condit stylistically.

Plus his body was used to the extreme training and high metabolism he had from the training. Plus he was still messing around in the gyms. So he was no longer training like a pro fighter, but much more active and healthy than the guy on the couch. Even if he smoked / drank daily.

Considering the fact that he's 38 and has been fighting for two decades, he actually looks pretty good to me.

Yeah he's older, but many fighters look a lot worse before even reaching 38. It helps his opponent isn't the youngest himself.
