Business tactics change over time people, maybe he was just talking about the current stance of the organization and you're all pulling at straws from years ago to bash the guy who brings you the majority of the best MMA on the planet for what reason?

I've got my gripes with Dana and J. Silva but this isn't one.

Dana does not need to justify his decisions to some whiny Sherdoggers.

Just trust that he will always make the choice that is in the UFC's best interests. In this case we have an up and coming female superstar headlining in front of two tired LHWs who both more than likely will never wear UFC gold again.

All the people who're using examples of non title fights headlining over title fights, those examples are from years ago, get over yourself. Just because UFC used to do that doesn't mean they still have that policy. How are you ever going to establish all these new divisions if you're going to constantly cut the legs out from underneath them before you can even get anything going in those divisions. If you promote the division as second rate then it'll always remain second rate.

By dragging up such old fights you're actively trying to misunderstand him just so you can complain. If you actually tried to understand you would have gotten the meaning and not drawing such moronic conclusion as that he was lying. If he was lying then that means that he was intentionally trying to hide that a couple of title fights have been placed differently in the past, while the rational conclusion is rather that he didn't think about it and therefor worded it so nit-pickers could rant about it.

if i'm not mistaken, hendo/machida had been signed for 3 rounds way before the rousey matchup was announced

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they would need one. Just curious about the opinion of those that say it should always headline in this type (super fight) situation. I believe the title should headline with some exceptions. Hell if you want to make Hendo/Machida the main event, turn it off after the fight.
 
But there is an easy way around that issue. Even though it might not be a title fight it would still nevertheless be 2 UFC champions fighting so they could easily make a case for it being the main event even though a title fight could be listed underneath it. It's more a case of UFC champions getting a main event slot then it just simply being a title fight getting a main event slot.

No it shouldn't, you should headline with which fight is the biggest draw, not which fight has a title on the line. You put the fight that most people are paying to see at the top since it's the one that is drawing in the most viewers.

Most of the time it's a title fight, some time it just isn't.

That is an impossible scenario though. The closest comparison to a huge drawing non-title fight is Brock, and he still played second fiddle to title matches when not champion.

why do you give a shred of crap how she does "ppv wise"? Youre not the ufcs accountant. Youre not a shareholder. You have no stake in ratings/buys. Youre only investment is in whether the fights are good. Period
