. We all had that time as a kid where we got stuck, frantic, and only an adult could help us out. A ditch drainpipe was my thing when I was 4. I was able to crawl from 1 end to the other. And then i turned 4 and a half and was big enough to get stuck. After that I had a healthy respect for enclosed crawls and avoided them but never got claustrophobic or anything.
I read it and shuddered slightly because you remember that time as a child you got stuck for hours
Then realized I'm not reckless enough to ever go spelunking in caverns I'm too fat for, decided the guy played nature's Russian roulette and it didn't trouble my sleep at all lol.
I imagine that guy's horror when the rescuers equipment couldn't get him out and broke and his realization that he was a goner when they unenthusiastically told him they were going to try to think of another way. The tone of their voice and look in their eyes would have gave the plot away. His fucking body is still in there and they sealed the cave with cement so nobody else could ever go in.
The mossdale caverns story is fucked up too. The 2 guys who opted out because it felt too dangerous and got teased and called pussies by the 6 who died STILL went in and tried to help rescue them after the rain flooded the cavern
