Nah, it's just not a simple thing. They're trying, but there's a reason why some renegade group is offering these trips with very sketchy regulations. It's because it's hard as fuck to get down there, let alone conduct a search of any kind. The Titanic is DEEP in the waters. It's a minor miracle that James Cameron and those crews figured it out, and they were taking plenty of risks to do so.

Cameron was using a Russian sub for the titanic explorations. Heck he said the only reason he made the movie was to get enough money to go down there himself. He did make his own sub though and went to the bottom of the Mariana Trench.

Yeah, dude is madman. What I don't get, is that if you were wealthy and really wanted to do this, why not spend the extra coin to do it properly? If I've got enough money to piss away a quarter of a million dollars on such an adventure(an eight hour trip to look at some wreckage through a foggy fiberglass window), why not do it right, or at least as right as it can be?
