Couldn't train Oly yesterday because it was a national holiday commemorating the birth of Benito Juárez and all OLY gyms in the area were closed, including Crossfit.

Found a gym in Rosarito that I like and I'm going to train at:



Dropped off my gym equipments there (Rogue Dog Sled, Farmer walk bars, 50 lbs chains, chalk bowl) in exchange for membership. The gym owner is a local American football coach here (Yes, American Football exists in Mexico), and we had a great chat about the similarities of our training philosophies.

I'm taking the rest of the week off. Too much going on at the moment. I'm settling into a new house in Rosarito this week. I will officially start training at a proper facility next Monday.

Finally got an apartment today. It's a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in Rosarito Centro just a few blocks away from the beach that I got for $325. Once my lease ends on my apartment in SD in July, I will move into a 3 bedroom house by the beach.

Finally, I can start cooking and eating my own meals. I swear to Baphomet, I've been stuffing my fat ass with lots of quesadillas, hamburguesas, mulitas, tortas, tacos, and dulces lately. My six pack is starting to slowly fade away. Fuck.

Notes:

Changed the lead leg of my jerk from left to right. Felt more comfortable this way. Makes sense because I fought as a southpaw back in my competitive BJJ/MT days. I am naturally right-handed.



Sick with flu-like symptoms. Weather's been chilly lately (40 deg F in the morning) and my apt doesn't have a heater. Stressed the fuck out too. New business, girlfriend drama, idiots, gah. C'est la vie.

So I did a bar path analysis with Kinovea and I saw that the bar is moving too much horizontally on the second pull. I need to work on extending my body vertically instead of bumping my thighs into the bar, because it's fucking everything up and I'm wasting too much energy pulling the bar in a horizontal motion.

Yeah, thanks for the well wishes. I think my immune's system is being a bitch again. And lately, I've been swamped with a lot of obligations, stress, drama, and whatnot, and couple the burnout with the mercurial weather down here in Rosarito, and you've got a recipe for an immune system that acts like a bitch.

I seriously need to learn how to relax and take it easy. My switch is always ON and it would be nice if my OCD ass could flick it OFF once in a while.
 
The pain in my right leg has been slowly subsiding. Been fucking pissed off the past week due to not being able to train. Will recommence training tomorrow. Shifted the days around on my programming so that my rest days are on Sundays and Tuesdays instead of Fridays and Sundays.
 






Notes: My right leg was feeling better this morning, but I couldn't use it as my lead leg for the jerk.

Hit some new PRs on my clean and clean and jerks, but they're so woefully low that I didn't give too much of a shit. But I'm still making progress, so I have that going for me.

My snatch form needs improvement. My ass is too high during the second pull. Perhaps I should throw in some hang snatches from the thighs to rectify this.

I will go to Tijuana in the afternoon for another training session. HS Back Squats.

Also, I changed my diet last Saturday. I'm ketoing again. Last night I ate a kilogram of beef with a crap ton of butter and fat and vegetables.

Was weak as shit today. My body was still reeling from the pounding I got from Monday's max out training. I couldn't squat my target weight today because my knees were feeling so raw.

On another note, my technique is getting sharper on the snatch. Bar path's getting straighter, so I have that going for me.

Somewhere in between my work sets, I peered out of the windows with a look of dejection and in a debilitated state. Perched on the roof were two birds, whom I immediately assumed to be of opposite genders as soon as I saw them pecking at each others beaks like young ... love birds ... in an obnoxious public display of affection.

What occurred next didn't surprise me. After 30 or 45 second of this smoochfest, the male partner hopped onto the back of his mate and did the deed. It took only 3 seconds for the male to inseminate his partner. 3 fucking seconds, and then he flew off without even bidding much of a farewell to her.

And then the thought hit me: are human beings the only animals on this planet that are obsessed or fixated with sex to the point of absurdity? Countless number of flicks depicting this disgusting act have been made like a spectacle of some sort, acts of domestic violence have been committed due to impotency or size issues, people have been to driven to a state of neurosis over their uncertainty of whether or not they are able to please their partners, numerous wars have been fought, the human trafficking...
