Yeah, think I'll wait for this one to land on Disney Plus. Nothing I've heard so far makes me want to watch it on the big screen.

Never thought I'd write these words but...I'm done with the MCU until X Men and/or Doctor Doom make an appearance. Phase 4 has been a massive disappointment so far, with Spider-Man: No Way Home being the only saving grace.

Word is Feige hasn't been as hands on with Phase 4 , so Directors are given more freedom, but that's not always a good thing, especially when a good Producer like Feige isn't there to reign them in when they do odd things.

This was the same exact situation as Wonder Woman. The first film is a hit, so the studio gives creative control to the director and the sequel goes off the rails. Wakiti makes fun films, but he needs to be reigned in.

So Phase 4 is profitable despite, Black Widow, Shang Chi and Eternals feeling the effects of covid caution. Now Way Home was a big hit , Doctor Strange 2 was a Significant bump up in profits from the 1st one and I assume love and Thunder will also make good money. That said I believe Phase 4 is still riding the Wave of the Infinity Saga being successful overall and they need to up the quality of the movies otherwise there will be a drop off.

When I read a comment from Sam Raimi saying that Kevin let him keep the corny stuff in, I knew that Kevin wasn't as on it. That kinda sucks because you can definitely see the difference. These movies are starting to be all over the place.

Yup , Love and Thunder is proof , Waititi had zero self control when it came to the comedy bits , shit was insufferable

That's unfortunate because he can be serious like with JoJo Rabbit. That was a great movie that mixed drama and comedy very well.

Yeah , that's why it was puzzling kept trying to over do comedic bits.

Taika seems like a really weird dude just based on the interviews I've seen with him. Feels like he's never being himself and always putting on some weird "funny" act kind of like Robin Williams.

At this point the MCU success is more like a TV series than a film franchise.

After 3 succesful seasons (phase 1-3) people are not likely to drop it after just one bad episode or even a bad season and just like with TV people is expecting some build up or payoff from all this meh stuff (a new Avengers team, X-men, thunderbolts, etc).

Very very true.

I would have been happier had Portman been more jacked, it was a fun movie.

I'm pretty interested to see the contrast of Taika's handling of the GOTG and Thor to James Gunn's handling.

Not related to Thor but lmao at this. The directors biggest movie fucking sucked.
