- Alarms were sent the previous day, including at 1am and 4am that morning
- The final emergency warning was around 5am, prior to the flooding hitting at 5:30am

Is anyone surprised that weather alerts going off at 4am or 5am when unheeded? A flood that hit when most people would be dead asleep and unaware of the danger? Especially on a holiday weekend

The National Weather Service office in New Braunfels, which delivers forecasts for Austin, San Antonio and the surrounding areas, had extra staff on duty during the storms, Runyen said.

Where the office would typically have two forecasters on duty during clear weather, they had up to five on staff.

“There were extra people in here that night, and that’s typical in every weather service office — you staff up for an event and bring people in on overtime and hold people over,” Runyen said.

This thread makes me feel dirty. That's enough WarRoom for me today.

I avoided the forums over the holiday and i knew some asshat would shit out this verbal diarrhea of a thread.

Like ringing a bell for Palov's Dog with brains rotted from terminal TDS.

Wasn't disappointed. Amazing these fucks tried to blame a tragic flash flood on Trump.

I had closely followed this because I had friends up there for the weekend and I've been the Comal and Guadeloupe several times. Seen the river rise up quickly with a thunderstorm.

Then I started hearing from shitbirds that the Weather Service hadn't issued warnings. I knew this was lies, because my friends got the warnings. But there were staying in places further down the river in New Braunfels. High enough not to worry. I didn't put two and two together over the weekend and that these same shitbirds where trying to find a way to blame Trump.

Either way, the rain was much than they expected. They woke up on Friday with the river rising. But they got out of there easy enough and came back to Htown.

Later that morning was when news started coming out that it got bad further up.

Had no idea how bad it was going to get. All over my local Facebook page. Several in the neighborhood had kids and family up there and no word.

Like I said in a previous post. Cell phone coverage is awful in many places up there, so not hearing anything didn't mean the worst news. But the waiting was awful
