Read what I posted again. They had warning but as with flash flooding it was worse then expected. Unfortunately this is nothing new in places that have flash flooding and is not the first or last time it will happen.

Are you from the US. Look up flash flooding and see what has happened before.

And yes it is heart breaking especially the little girls at the camp. Whole family's are missing also.

Also we could work to improve warring and more mandatory evacuation but that can be self defeating when you make people leave and its not as bad as it possibly could have been. People then start refusing to leave because " they always say it's going to be bad then nothing happens ". I have seen that myself with hurricanes.

I think that while it may not have contributed, stripping funding to agencies that track these storms and send alerts out is not a good move. Why skimp on meager money like this? I know why. Because Trump doesn't want to be called on shit. Blame will always be shifted and even better if there is no one there to point out what went wrong there is no blame.
