There is no getting away from BLM and Juneteenth

Yeah, it is getting annoying. At what point does the message get lost because of over-saturation?

It has always been a thing in Texas.

Which makes sense because the whole concept behind it is the fact that it took that long for it to happen in Texas after it happened nationally.

Make it one of those fake holidays that we have the no one really celebrates or gets off work except for bankers/govt.

The Facebook logo has been turning into a bunch of brown hands breaking chains. You can't get away from it without turning off everything.

So it's like Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, etc...? So it's like a Holiday?

You guys are just mad at it because it celebrates black people, right? I'm not crazy here, that's what you guys are mad about, right? Because I endure 4 months of Christmas shite, Halloween Shit, and Thanksgiving shite every damn year. I have to listen to all the 4th of July nonsense. I have to always praise the Presidents of yesteryear. I don't really complain because I just go on with my god-damn day and so do you. But suddenly THIS ONE is a bridge too far, huh?

Social Justice fatigue is a real thing, and its a good thing.

The people who get fatigued are those who grew up with certain privileges (most of us) and are told that social justice is a good thing, without having to go through any of the negative experiences.
Lots of people first get fatigued by the message before realizing how important the message is, without simply being told.

These kids "know" racism is bad, because they were classically trained about it, without ever having to go through it. It still doesnt mean they know how bad it is.
It takes a lot of media and social media movement for them to stop and really reflect on it.

Lol we’re good. My tax dollars pay for poor peoples health insurance, food stamps, and housing. I don’t feel shit

Sorry, wtf is the problem?
The problem is individuals and corporations are touting this stuff not because they actually care about any of it, but because they are afraid to get black listed or whatever reprimand you are supposed to receive for not being sufficiently woke.

Also to the young and uneducated (a large portion of the population unfortunately) they might see all this stuff and actually think the social climate is comparable to actual slavery or the Jim crow days.

Blowing things out of proportion to a bunch of people who have no context of current events is how you get things like global wide lockdowns for viruses with 99% survival rates.

Are you saying that you are comfortable living in a world where the majority of people think we are living through the bubonic plague or the Jim crow era?

Is it making you uncomfortable? If it is, you make want to ask yourself why.

well... I guess being annoyed is not comfortable.
But wasps at an early autumn picnic are also annoy and increase discomfort.

Should I ask why that is?

Celebrating an individual race is a problem, believe it or not. It's openly divisive.

Juneteenth is actually a nice thing to celebrate. I had not heard of it until recently, but I have a co-worker who said her family has celebrated it for about 7 years now. She said she started celebrating it when she attended a historically black college, where it was actually discussed. Ever since then, her family has had a party every year just like they do on the 4th of July. Just a family get together with a cookout. I think it's a noble thing to celebrate.

BLM is an organization, which is a bit different. I could do without any type of advertising on my feed, or on my screen during shows. I don't really care if it is political in nature or not, I'd rather not be distracted. I haven't seen any BLM stuff on my Youtube videos though, I keep getting a Joe Biden "I'm asking you for a favor" ad, actually.

I haven't noticed any BLM stuff, other than signs in yards around my area from people who just want to show some support. But I haven't been watching much television, other than movies on Netflix the last few days.

Huh? Celebrating the freeing of slaves is divisive? To who? And why?
The freeing of slaves is one thing but the BLM movement is absolute trash.

You won't like this opinion, but it's mine and I don't give a fuck. Blacks had it horribly in the past; there's no doubting that. But they have it pretty good today. The media likes to blow it out of proportion, but it's not the epidemic they'd have you believe.

It seems like string of posts between you and Miles was about Juneteenth, the Holiday, not BLM the organization. That's why he was comparing it to other Holidays.

But anyways, we are all free to support the organizations we want to support, and celebrate the Holidays we want to celebrate. That's why we live in America.

Has there ever been a thread that says "first-world problems" more than this one?

Poor victims like TS need a hug.

This picture is a parity of sherdog.

"Look at all of those people upset about the injustices of this country. Can't they see that Trump has made America great again?"

Not to mention, the guy in Atlanta had a felony conviction for abusing his own children. These guys didn't deserve to die, but they don't deserve to be venerated either.
Then tell the police not to murder them and people won't turn them into martyrs. You have to go first.
