There are two ways to fix USADA

How would you fix Drug testing in MMA

I say get rid of it. I don't really give a good god damn who's using what. An athlete should be able to explore all of what sports science has to offer them.

Fucking TJ is a cheesy cheater, he's doping his blood up and he got KO'd in 30 seconds by a midget.

Well they had a lot more problems than steroids
Sure, but i'd be willing to wager the insane strain of all the ped's and non stop training they put themselves through because of said drugs was directly linked to their dependence on things like pain killers And the stricter testing would also catch guys abusing said painkillers as they're screened for. I'm not disagreeing that no USADA means better fights as it absolutely would. But it can't be compared cause fight quality is not the reason USADA is implemented. So using it as an argument to unseat them isn't really all that valid. You'd have to somehow prove USADA has no beneficial gain in fighter health and safety before it ever holds weight.

what I would definitely change is the punishment, once the guy is clean again he is good to fight in my book
instead of suspensions they should fine the fighters from 30 to 100% of the purse

Lifetime ban would be as effective a deterrent as the death penalty. And probably as fairly applied.

Not to mention replete with the same amount of appeals to defer the sentence being actually applied.

I see your argument. However I think the burden of proof goes jn the other direction

Why the second
Some could be careless?
you can legit not know what you were taking on the first offense,
or at least didn't it was on the ban substance list.

1st
offense should be minimum 1 yrs ban as a warning.
2nd
sorry you fckd up twice, you're out
even if some how, it wasn't on purpose or you didn't know.

Time will tell. It's definitely one of the most divisive topics the sport has seen in years. I'm kind of on the fence still but gravitate towards the side of caution. I like the idea of unbiased fair testing, but at the same token shit like the Jones debacle, and some of their other decisions for suspensions makes me question how fair it actually is. It's just the best we got at the moment.

There's a counterpoint to it though. Cause you end up with guys like Mark Kerr, Mark Coleman, and Kevin Randleman who suffered greatly in middle age from a wild west atmosphere of ped use during their career. The testing isn't designed to make the sport itself better. It's there to save fighters from their own and ambitions, and liability issues down the road most likely. Example being the huge anti trust lawsuit that a lot of fighters were tied to. If and when there's ever a death related to a UFC fight, having USADA in place will pay dividends for them as far as liability goes.
People don't get that USADA is just a big insurance policy for the UFC. Death, CTE, whatever, they can say we had the best testing in the world to keep the sport clean and safe as possible.

I mean I get it, but yeah most seem to think it's strictly in the interest of fairness. The fairness just happens to be a bi-product of the pseudo insurance they're paying for.

UFC should break off from USADA and do its own drug testing. Come up with a list of approved supplements. Institute a three strikes policy. A first positive test should be a 6 month suspension with increased testing upon return. A dodged or tainted test is treated as a positive. Those who unwittingly take tainted supplements are not suspended, but still subject to increased testing. A second positive test is a 15 month suspension, followed by even more rigorous testing. A third positive test is a permanent ban, with appeals for reinstatement allowed after 3 years.

Let them bang

Everyone is using something anyway..

Just like all the injuries and deaths before USADA came in to save the day. Oh wait... <45>

It's almost like people don't remember UFC before USADA, which is very depressing. 2008 to 2012 were golden years and none of this doom and gloom shit happened. Or were you still in elementary school back then?
i agree 2008-2012 were golden years, not because of USADAs abscence, because of great fights. 2015-16 were golden too. and there will be more golden years in the future, as the skill level and talent pool keeps rising. regarding the PEDs, they have well documented adverse effects, no matter if it's happened in mma or other sports or both. for example, when athletes can EPO themselves to death in one sport, there's no reason to believe it can't happen in mma. just because it hasn't happened yet in this still very young sport doesn't mean such things can't happen in the future, it's naive to think otherwise. it's no secret a lot of you hardcore just bleed guys are very nostalgic about the "cirkus freak show" era with your pride and your bob sapps and mark colemans, but it's a thing of the past

Why would the UFC sign a 10yr. contract? It's not like they have some exclusivity on drug testing. Must have been big money involved. 10yrs, WTF.

LOL at TJs nuthuggers emerging to start pathetic anti-USADA threads. You are all pro-cheating cowards.
Dude.. loads of top fighters still use PED's, it will never end. The only difference today is a larger disparity between the clean and dirty, which makes the playing field easier to navigate for those who are dirty.

in it in case they want to get out.

My guess is that they could only do that if they find proof of USADA being way too incompetent or corrupt, not in the "corrupt" way we known them, but in a bigger way where USADA employees take money directly from a fighter to manipulate a test, just getting rid of them because it catches too many guys doesnt look good for the sport, there is no comeback from what they did by bringing them in.
