How to fix the UFC

Well UFC is basically untouchable since there is no real competition for them. So they dont need to fix anything.

On otherside they should definitely reconsider bigger expansion into Europe and etc. They should definitely do some kind of "circuits" or tournaments similiar to Dana White Contender Series. Do some qualifications, etc. with low budget. -
1.They will test waters without risking lose of money
2.They would definitely sold out 5,000-10,000+ arenas with relatively low costing
3.Injection of new talents (many fighters dont want to risk their current contract over DWCS due to many problems, problems as only one coach fly ticket and accommaditions paid + small time to aclimate with jet leg,etc...

I would also love to see some kind of world championship format from UFC. Multiple day tournament from 18+ amateurs (no extra protection, but some extra rules to maximize prevention of cuts,etc... no elbows for example) final fight would be first pro fight securing UFC / LFA contract or something like this... - but this is absolutely wild idea..

  • Get rid of men's flyweight. Sorry little dudes, maybe you can go fight in Asia or somewhere. They're too small and it looks bizarre, like we're having little kids fighting or something
  • Get rid of every woman's division other than 115. Then try to actually make 115 better- sign prospects, slowly develop them over time, etc. I'm not as anti-WMMA as some people on here, but my God is women's 135 just absolutely eye-bleach awful. The skill level would be low even for regional MMA
  • Once 115 is actually decent (like in 5-10 years), pick one new female weight class and slowly develop them. 105 or 125, I don't care. They can only fight on the prelims until they actually get decent (so probably another 10-15 years)
  • Legalize knees to the head of a grounded opponent, and upkicks everywhere. Obviously
  • Get rid of 5 round fights. This is the controversial one. Yes, championship fights are traditionally longer. But mostly make they for slow-paced decisions. Make everything 3 round fights, incentivize them to fight harder. It's a sport, the point is to entertain us. Attention spans are getting shorter
  • Eye poke is an automatic point deduction
I could come up with more radical stuff (frankly I think they should merge light heavyweight & heavyweight), but those the are the common sense ones that we should adopt immediately
I like flyweight and think we need more not fewer fights at the lower weights.

Lower ticket prices and more regional events. I like small shows with hometown support. Get out of Apex and fewer middle east events.

Either you’ve got heart or you don’t.

More pay won’t change that.

How bout a 20% purse fine for each eye poke. Taking a point is far too inconsequencial in relation to the possible damage and momentum shift of a bad eye poke.

Allowing most of the currently banned strikes would help

Upkicks. Obviously. This is a no Brainer
Guy on back should have all weapons to protect himself.

Knees to grounded opponent. - more finishes, punishes lazy shots, create more scrambles

Soccer kicks - they are harder than they look and they create scrambles providing a chance to mitigate stalemate and stalling

Stomps- . <{JustBleed}>
If you can not prevent you opponent from stepping on your head
You don't deserve to win the fight

If the world is too Pussy for all of this, then give e me upkicks knees and soccer kicks and I'll fight for stomps again in a few years when no one dies from adding the other stuff.

and for anyone crying about heads being trapped near the cage,
Do a 1meter "warning track" around femce perimeter with current lame ass rules

i really wish affliction 3 would have happend - barnett vs fedor. that would have inspired a new series of huge hw fights....

I call bullshit. There's only 1 way, full open weight tournament for both the mens & women's divisions. 1 male & 1 female champion at the end, 3 fights in 1 night, not this pampered BS, go back to the old school.

  • Fire Dana, Hunter, Sean Shelby, Mick Maynard, Joe Rogan, Daniel Cormier, Paul Felder, and Michael Bisping
  • Dissolve TKO Holdings and make Zuffa independent again
  • Tighten up production big time
  • Make PEDs mandatory
Leave Felder. Bisping and DC are rich Felder needs a job

Before fixing anything there has to be some acknowledgment it's broken and needs fixing. UFC just cut a huge deal with Paramount and is feeling good about everything. So there will be no eliminating of weight classes, women's divisions and 5 round fights.

I think we can possibly see legalization on knees to grounded opponents and upkicks. I'm for it and I think they are coming around to it.

I would rather have 5-round fights turned into 6-round fights, with a longer break after the first 3 rounds.

Kind of like a Super Bowl halftime show while we wait. This would reduce the cardio stalling we usually see and give teams more time to interestingly adjust their strategy 🤷‍♀️

Frankly, this isnt bad.

I see a flyweight fight coming up, I skip it.

Wmma fight depends on the attraction level of the girls. Nothing great about seeing gremlins fight, despite their skill cuz ill get my fight itch scratched from the rest of the card.

Knees and upward kicks are long over due. Upkicks are completely illegal?

Eye pokes, YES, point deduction.

Unsure about the 5 round setup being removed. Hate fights that are good but because they're 3 rounds, theyre over.

I mostly agree or ill allow it all. Sick of being bored and pretending if i find that blanketing is boring then im a casual.

You only got one right, the last one.

Forget all that other stuff.

Cageside weigh-ins. If you are over the limit, your whole purse goes to the opponent and you take a 50% pay cut, and also STFU or you get cut.
Give everyone a month from today to choose their weight class.

Use all the "needle" metrics already in place to determine which fights people want to see now. Publish SM poll results.
Make those fights. If either fighter refuses, they get a 50% pay cut. If they refuse twice, they get cut.

This would result in best UFC for two years, then everyone would go to a different promotion and UFC would die, so it is perfect for sherdoggers. Badass fights and kill UFC.

stop favoring wrestlers and get rid of the grounded opponent rules.

lol ok. That's one show. What the fuck are you supposed to do for the rest of the entire year? Just keep doing that tournament over and over?
