Been wanting to sit down and work my way through this post for awhile. Just had time to sit down and do it. Very nicely organized. You really did a great job on this.

thanks! hope it helps. if you use it in a roll let me know how it goes :icon_chee

thanks dan, definately gonna have to try that out, especially the stuff from the back!

Forget bumped - this should be stickied. A shining example of what f12 should be.

sticky! awesome job dude, thanks a lot!

My God. Sticky!

Daaaaaaang! I don't use Williams guard but I'm glad I read over that stuff so I know what to look out for should I wind up there. This is a phenomenal breakdown of it! Hopefully you can do more stuff like this down the line and we'll have a "Gambledub's Compendium" sticky soon enough!

Seriously, why isn't this stickied. It is such an informative thread with a lot of useful information that can help many people.

TS, are you planning to do threads for other guards?

has this been sticky'd yet?

guess its up to the mods? lol

Keoni Koch used the position a bit, last night in his RFA fight Vs Brian Ortega.

It's really happening. Just wrapped the Williams Guard shoot with Shawn. TONS of great stuff. Will prob be a 3 DVD set. Most likely March or April release. More details later!

Posted this before, but didn't see it in your list of submissions.

This is by far my highest percentage sub from Williams guard. I pretty much go straight to it...

THANK YOU! i described this sub after the references but had no video, this is a great choke. ill have to add this to the post! awesome find :D

Gamble I finally just went through all of this, Really amazing compilation, great job man!

I am honored you ended it with one of my vids and hope people like my take on things. Also, one of the Gifs is my friend from Hayastan Gokor George Armbarian I call him, the triangle against the posture I think it was, he wears black shorts with black leggings underneath. That was nice to see.

Desji thanks for posting that, I basically got it the other night after just watching vid once.

A few things IMO Gamble.......On Triangle Position I would point out the Tepee choke crunch option....especially from these types of positions for a guy with short legs like me that becomes available more than reg triangle. Also, you should always have Double Wrist Lock (what you all call a Kimura for some strange reason just so it would seem in marketing to be some rare move Helio lost to, DWL or Ude Garami been around a long long time before GJJ in Judo, Jujitsu, and Catchwrestling, and I am sure Pankration, and Egyptian and many other cultures fighting arts WAY before that) or Arm Weaves/What you call El Nino.

On to the Arm Weaves/El Nino....what you call the RKG again I have a bit of problem with the naming. Anyway, the gripping isn't really the reverse hand grip....it is pressure with your shoulder and torso twist that does the lock.

On one of the rolling counter sweeps to the Oma Plata Pinwheel pass.....once you get to that top position you should always go for Baby Arm Reverse short Armbar....before going for something like your own rolling Oma Plata that you showed. I show this move in one of my four rolling Oma Plata vids if you are interested.

I'll have to see if I can get to The Cuff/Rexangle when I decide to play Rubber Guard/Shawn Williams hybrid. Last night I wanted to play some Williams after 21 min of MMA sparring, but it wasn't there so went RubberGuard NY to Crack Head to Oma Plata and talk everyone through the finish etc. I am filming many vids I hope people will like but waiting for DSL to be able to upload. I think you will all advanced guys love my vid on 2 Armless (ur arm) Triangle Setups and Rolling Neck Breaker and Reverse Triangle from the back and how they relate once I can upload. Rolling armless triangle finished like the Cuff/Invisible Collar/Ninja Choke/Rexangle so it is all kinda related.

Oh, other thing, damn I will have to go back see where it was, but some convuluted thing to get the guys arm bent backwards to then shoot to the Williams guard.....well, there is a very obvious short arm scissors put leg over the head, and Arm Weave holds from there. Don't go to ABCD D if you have option B to submit someone right there. That is the name of the game, I think many BJJ people miss that concept, same as Wing Chun guys that overly focus on complicated 18 trap serious when if you trap right you stun the guy trap him shock his weight backwards clearing your way to hit hit hit. The hitting should be the real goal in WC, as the Catches/Submissions should be the real goal in a lot of grappling, WHILE CONTROLLING THE GUY WITH good control, wrestling manipulating him, and body weight distribution but then I am more of a top control total body submission guy, that just tries to have the best guards and reversals I can.

Just my take, Brown in Hayastan, Purple yrs ago 10th Planet, Blue many years before that Caique, been hard core Grappling MMA since Jan 1997, with some Judo and fake ufcing with friends since 1995, and MA since 1986. So, just where you get an idea where my take on things comes from a bit, though I have trained with soooooo many diff. sources.

Baby Arm kinda short armbar ....I have 3 other vids on Oma Plata not sure which ones I do it in.

Sorry for nose in this vid, but the Carni is going to be available a lot if guy tries to stuff step over your leg if you play Williams or Rubber Guard...

Carni done fast from Butterfly......anyway, anyone that likes my stufff please Subscribe DanTheWolfman1 or TheCombatSystem.com

Thanks! yeah that arm weave is what i called El Nino i have seen it a few times but dont know what its called. its not a huge part, more of a transition thats available or that you can use if other options are being shut down

ill have to check out part two! i didnt realise there was another one! thanks for the vids

Edit: Dan another one of your techniques is gonna be in the next "compendium" you have some intresting stuff! :D (hope you dont mind, it will be referenced!)
referencing one of Dan's vids, this will make him the happiest he's been in years

thanks for all the insight dan, glad you like the article. let me know how you get on with it in sparring :)

Hope you could understand my comments and techniques in the vids of where they would fit in to everything you compiled. Let me know how often you hit the Carni instead of going straight to Oma Plata....you will be surprised how often it is there.

Great article, thanks for sharing!

(ps: the gif download seems to not work)
