Sure. Actual election results, when they're in, though. If Trump tries to overturn it or whatever, that's irrelevant.

As long as the results are "official", that's fine. No matter who wins, it's gonna be challenged, I can guarantee you that. We're probably gonna have to wait a little bit for "official" results no matter who wins, due to how fucked up it's gonna be. After the election is done, we'll see what's what, but I don't think there's anything that will bolster any argument that the final results are illegitimate.

This goes for you too. If Trump wins, and the Dems pull out some conspiracy on foreign influence, I'm not waiting three years for it to be resolved. We're both pretty reasonable. I think we can agree that unless something is extremely out of wack, the final results are good enough.

Sound like you have more of an understanding here. Can we say any recounts leading to a final decision from the state or SCOTUS would be fine? Only thing that sounds like we could call a null bet is a complete revote process put in place?

Let's just say that if worse comes to worse over whatever, the guy who gets sworn in in January is the ultimate decider. If by some ridiculous chance the election is overturned down the road, I'd be cool with a reversal, but I highly doubt that will be necessary.

Can I just say how fucking batshit crazy it is that there's a completely legitimate and detailed discussion about caveats involving election thievery and invalidation in a bet about a United States election, and not some third-world dictatorship?

I would say the day after, but if there's a lot of voting by mail, it could take a few days to get the results in. If Biden wins the election, but Trump demands a revote or tries some kind of bullshit court challenge or Barr tries to arrest Biden or something, fuck off. The election is what we're betting on. I believe that polling is more accurate than wishful thinking, and the bet is me standing behind that. Heretic mentioned that we should be able to figure it out. I'd be fine with some kind of panel or just us reaching a deal.

And that Trump's own supporters aren't saying, "go watch a Nic Cage movie. He's an honorable man and would never try to steal an election that he lost."

It really won't be necessary. It's a pretty simple bet. I doubt there will be any real controversy, other than perhaps waiting for a while for some results, due to how unorthodox the whole thing will be. I'm pretty sure there will be a clear winner in relatively short order.

Like I said, if worse comes to worse over the process, we just go with whoever is declared the official winner, and is President in January. Good enough?

Waiting to January IMO adds a second bet on whether American democracy survives. I'm willing to do that if we make it count as a second bet (@Lead). That is:

1. Biden will win the election, three-month sig.
2. If Biden wins the election, he will actually be allowed to take office, one-month sig.

The problem I’m running into here is I need to make this as clear as possible. That’s why I proposed revote nulls the bet but a recount/ court decision on votes wouldn’t. I can’t just go off of “BS court challenge” cause it could be likely you both don’t agree on what that is. If it’s easy to distinguish what wouldn’t count, it has to be stated as such.

There's no reason to make this so complex. Why is this always such an ordeal with you? Let's just stick with whoever wins, okay? I'm not gonna be scrambling for excuses if Trump starts talking shit if he loses. Just agree to the bet, or I'm out. I'm not doing this runaround for ten pages.

Two month sig bet on the winner. It's as simplistic a bet as it gets. Are you in or out?

I think it's simple, too, but you keep complicating it. It's an election. We're betting on who wins it. Just want to clarify that Trump trying to steal it doesn't change the outcome of our bet. Normally an election bet would be settled on the day after the election. This might take a little longer because of the mail situation. But when that's resolved, that should be the end of it. If Trump screams, "no fair, there was a conspiracy" or something, that shouldn't affect our bet.

Just draw it up, already. This isn't complicated, and we can muse all day about a billion little things that might or might not go down. It's a bet on who wins the Presidency. Whoever wins it, whenever the results are official, wins the bet. There's the bet.

God, I miss the days of just betting people on the fly in threads, and we just agreed on the basics. This is ridiculous.

As soon as the results are in and reported, that should settle the bet.

I'm not complicating shit. If Biden wins, you win. If Trump wins, I win. I've already said the only thing that could delay things, is an official challenge that is recognized and granted, and not Trump just talking shit. If that happens, we just fucking wait it out, and see who officially wins.

Are you in or out?

Trump is the president. I think that if he tries to overturn the result or something, it's not a guarantee that he fails. Why don't you just want to bet on the election result?

I am betting on the result. If Trump somehow pulls off some coop you're seriously afraid of, and remains President even if he lost the election, you win. Okay? Can we get the fuck on with it, already?

I've already got a bet with someone else on this, and it was not this complicated, so I'll just ask one more time. Are you in or out? If you can't give me a simple yes or no, then fuck it. I'm not doing this bullshit any longer with you.

OK. So once the results are reported, the bet is settled, right? I'm in.

Why do you keep ducking the bet on the election results? Do you agree that Biden is likely to win the election?

What in the ever living fuck are you talking about?

Electoral College winner decides the bet. End of story.
