It's not that they are dumb, though. At least not exclusively....

Sir I present to you exhibit A.

Americans who voted for President Trump in 2016 trust the nation’s leading newspapers about as much as Infowars, the website published by right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, the results of a poll revealed Wednesday.

Conducted between Feb. 10 and 12 by YouGov for The Economist, the survey asked nearly 1,500 respondents to rate various print, television and online outlets as either very trustworthy, trustworthy, neither trustworthy nor untrustworthy, untrustworthy, or very untrustworthy...

...Compared to other outlets, Trump voters rated Infowars equally to both The New York Times and The Washington Post in terms of trustworthiness.

Clearly equal to the fake news NYT and Amazon Post.

If the folks of El Paso, the ones actually spending their lives on the border knowing vastly more than the keyboard warriors on a karate forum regarding whether the wall there works, say it doesn’t and they don’t want to waste taxes on its upkeep forever. Well, I would expect a smart person in government representing them to listen.

He never said all of the walls of barriers on the border, just that one location, but of course folks translate that to “dem calls for, derp, a completely open southern border”.

What about border patrol agreeing with Trump?

The truth doesn't matter so long as what you're saying keeps the base loyal.

Nailed it.

It's true for BOTH sides of the Aisle.

Republicans running for President are going to say whatever the hell they can to get votes.

Democrats are going to do the same.

Same shit, every 4 years.

Did he actually do a poll of the people there to get their opinion on the Wall currently there that keeps migrants from waltzing into their territory easily?

I just can't see them agreeing to something so radical as tearing down an already-existing barrier.

And last I checked, doesn't the Border Patrol's viewpoints carry more weight on whether a Barrier is needed, anyway?

I think some watch InfoWars for the entertainment and tin-foil hat conspiracies. I doubt anything Alex Jones says is really taken seriously.

Plus, I think the NYT and the Washington comPOST(

says "Hi.") are about as equally trustworthy. :D

There is such a thing as a person that dedicates themselves to public service and has America's best interest at heart. Not all candidates are pathological liars interested in self enrichment. The onus is on the voter not to fall for the BS.

Yes but where does the BS start and where does it end?

With Politicians, you never know.

That's the issue here.

That's why I despise them all.

From the Schumers to the McConnell's.

It all comes down to three things :

Power, Control, and Money.

Hilarious Trump is impressed that rush Limbaugh can listen to the sound of his own voice for three hours

It should start by people who demonstrably lie and dismiss ethical standards losing support. ;)

Well that's probably what he meant if all he can say about Rush is : "well...he's a Great guy." <Fedor23>

That was an backhanded compliment toward him.
