The new "he should not have done that, it was the wrong thing to do."

he knows he will lose. But he also knows this could drag thru the courts for years so it will be his big election issue going into the next election.

Trump wants border security and the idea he is the only one fighting for it front and centre. He could care less if he wins or actually gets his wall as he knows he will lose. Its the rhetoric and talking point he wants.

Can't believe I'm saying this but :

I agree with you on the bolded. <Eek2.0>

In fact, he may actually want this issue to be tied up in the courts so that it shows his base that he's doing his best to fulfill his Campaign promise.

Pretty clever if that's the plan.

This speech is a national emergency. Weirdo cadence and all.

Sounds like my mom complaining about summer vacation.

"And we'll all be stuck in the car for days, and we'll get hot and sweaty, and then your dad will get irritated, and we'll come home early...."

Lol great analogy because that’s the same thing I was thinking of.

if you say so. Just a reminder, the president has 650 strategic delivery vehicles, including 400 ICBMs able to launch within minutes. Just putting that out there while you watched.
Oh, I thought the speech was disastrous. And that part was really bad too. I just wanted to throw the idea out there that the specific part in the video is common in NY. Trump sounded bonkers today (and most days quite frankly).

The party of "small government" playing along with this executive power grab to get the funds to take over massive amounts of private property is hilarious to watch. Fucking posers.

He wanted to claim he is a great negotiator so this isn't really necessary but it is an emergency. wtf?

Trump knows his base. He knows how dumb and easily played and duped they are.

I do give him credit for that as I think no one before, despite some jokes about the far right being dumb realized just how very stupid they actually are. Trump was really the first to realize the far rights stupidity knows no bounds.

{<jordan}

This guy over here. Declares an emergency, then immediately says it's not an emergency.

After two years and a gov shutdown at what point you think he should take it to the next level? Government is not functioning correctly as far as he is concern with this. It's so politicized now, it seems the actual subject is lost in talking points... it's all about wins and losses along with tribalism

er.... because he tried to get out government to approve it the right way.
This is what president just signed. Literally most open borders president ever. But don't stop believing he depends on it..
