Economy The [Wall / Government Shutdown] Megathread

Would you approve of Trump using emergency powers to build his wall?

So? Following a garbage offer with a slightly less garbage offer doesn't make the second offer worth taking. And the Dems have pretty conclusively established that they didn't have to take it.

You don't know what that means and are just talking shit because you're mad, lol.

This is cancerous and detrimental to our immigration process. If we overhaul it and make getting visa's easier for workers it'll be a good start. However Dems don't want to give anything up because of the hysteria around them losing a fucking election.

I have no emotional attachment tot his or the re-opening of the government. I didn't think it was necessary from the start.

Nice try though

He said he was ready to keep the government shut down for months or years, until he got his wall. What happened, Donald? What a fucking dope. The biggest dumbfuck in presidential history, by far.
The Super Bowl. That is happening.

Watching these two ghouls, Nancy and Chuck and really can't fathom how anybody can vote dem...or call themselves a Democrat. I honestly just don't get it.

I've never understood how people point to this as a smoking gun. They say tougher measures, they don't say a wall. All during this detente, the Democrats have openly supported more money for illegal immigration countermeasures - more agents, judges, etc. The only exception being the wall concept.

It's weird to reduce the discussion of illegal immigration control to whether or not someone wants "a wall" (maybe symbolically but not practically).

THIS. If anything it's a clear display that all the made up "ALL LIBZ WANT OPEN BORDERS" nonsense is clearly not and has never been true.

He says as yet another Trump inner circle advisor gets cuffed and locked up

Trump supporters are almost as dellusional as people who support Maduro.

Trumptards are flailing itt. Panic wrestling all across the War Room and shit. Find a paper bag and breathe. Breathe!

Is this a troll post? Atlanta fucking sucks.
Good weather, lots of corporate HQ's, multiple college's, a magnet for people from all over the south and people fleeing the high cost of living up north, southern fried hip hop. It's the unofficial capital of the south.

Yeah I think the Stone thread still takes the cake though. This speech was bad but you can just see them deflate in the Russia threads more and more as the dominoes fall. Getting sad TBH.

They are in denial big time. I almost feel bad making fun of them.... almost.

Again and again, Trump demonstrates that he cannot negotiate except from a position of extreme leverage over his opponent. He had no superior leverage here and thus had to cave. Because when you spend your time bragging about winning, even ending up even is a loss.

Politics is fucking hard.

On the other side, no wonder business people don't go into politics. Politicians play the game at a much higher level. No criticism to DJT but he's out of his depth dealing with the Pelosi's and the McConnell's of Congress.

actually, i think its more he gave himself no chance for victory.

to win this, he has to get his wall without giving in on DACA.

all the negotiating skills in the world aren't gonna win that one. he ran his mouth and painted himself into a very small corner

Cough, cough... bullshit, sanctuary cities are not tougher measures regardless of the mental gymnastics you people are capable of.

It's Friday, why be disingenuous?

The letter supports "tougher measures". The hypocrite argument centers entirely on whether or not the politician supports a wall. It's just not remotely the same thing.

What sanctuary cities has to do with the difference between "tougher measures" and the wall escapes me.
