My friend brought up the argument that "They will all just come through the tunnels". Im no expert, but Im going to assume that very few illegals are going to have access to such tunnel systems.

From what I understand the majority of illegals simply jump the fence, swim, boat or walk across. A high wall that is difficult to get over would certainty persuade some of them to simply go back, as it may be too difficult to climb safely.

Of course a wall isnt going to stop everyone, as people always find a way around things, but it can certainly act as a deterrent to some of them, and it would have an affect.
