The Terminal List (Amazon series)

I just finished it, and as soon as mu xbox session with my nephew is over, I'm starting it again.

Great acting, great script, amazing editing and violence.

I just finished Gangs of London. Fun watch. Looking forward to season 2. Thanks for the recommendation

Fuck this show. I wanted to like it and I don't care that it's not woke or revenge porn or whatever

What has me pissed is that I really like these books and this is not what happened. Reese is not ptsded out , does not have memory problems and has a lot more personality than I feel like Pratt is giving him .

Not happy with what they did with Jack carrs story at all.

Have none of you people read the book?

I haven't read the book so I didn't know how the story was written. I really liked the show and watched all 8 episodes in one sitting.

I know how reading the book first can detract from a movie or series. I read the Jack Reacher books before the movies came out and seeing a midget like Tom Cruise playing Reacher made the movies a joke to me.

I also read Agatha Christies Poirot stories and books and I thought Peter Ustinov didn't fit the role in the least. He was 6 feet tall so he couldn't really play the role of a man "who was barely 5' 4" "as written. David Suchet fit the role much better physically and also nailed the mannerisms perfectly.

Way too many flashbacks.

I'm so sick of this trend of interrupting the story to give me some sentimental bullshit about the past.

Tell the story from beginning to end. I know that's a craaazy concept now, but this is becoming trite.

Dunno but there are many books an this was just 1 so I assume so.

There are 5 books out now and from the review of the second book, Reece is still suffering from the brain tumor as he is still sailing. I considered buying the books but decided against it. Those who read the book didn't seem to like the series. If Amazon continues the series, I'd like to watch it without it being spoiled. I suspect Amazon will probably continue if possible as it has shown a high rating. If they don't run a second season, I might buy the books if I'm still around.

I feel the same way, unless a flashback plays some important part in the plot, keep thing linear. As long as it is made clear that it is a flashback, I can deal with it. In these days of short attention spans and an 8 hour series, the flashbacks are probably necessary.

I have a couple of problems with the plot in the first episode and wondered if others did too. I will put it in spoilers for those don't want to know. Maybe the book had it happening differently.

I'm kind of puzzled by what the attackers were going to do with Reece at the MRI scan? Was the intention of the two attackers to take Reece from the MRI scan back to his house and leave him to be found with his wife and daughter and make the deaths look like a murder / suicide? I assume that the attackers killed Reece's wife and daughter when they went to his house to get the gun. If so, it seems like the best way would have been to wait for Reece to come home after the scan. Were they going to shoot him at the MRI facility to make it look like he killed his wife and daughter before coming for the scan, then settled in for the scan before killing the technicians? The smart way would have been to drug him while he was still in the scanner. I've had several MRI scans and they usually had an intravenous line to be able to inject dyes for contrast. A sedative could be easily administered without a patient even knowing. A sedative is quite common for people having an MRI scan as some people are claustrophobic so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to find sedatives in his blood at autopsy.

I was half expecting the next episode to start with Reece waking up in the scanner and the whole thing being something he imagined. It turns out that his wife and daughter are really dead but the attacker he shot several times isn't at the scanner and there is no evidence of any shooting. Then I expected that Reece would be in jail for the 4 murders.

Amazon's crown jewel would be The Boys but their Chris Pine movies won me over. I'll be checking this out even if Pratt has a .5 winning rate with me lol.

Is there any part where one of the military types says "we were set up" or "they lied to us"

Finished the first season, I like the action stuff but the story is pretty dumb especially the twist in the end.

No wokeness at all in this

Yeah, I saw the trailer and this show looked like every conservative’s wet dream.

“He’s an ex marine, so you know he’s the toughest, most badass, and most honorable man that has ever lived. No marine has ever turned out to be just a total fucking scumbag. And now he’s going to have to kill people in the US to set something right. And everyone is going to realize what a bunch of pussies they are compared to this guy.”

That’s pretty much the gist of the show. Not a lot of depth there. And it has been done to death. And that’s coming from someone who loves the Jack Reacher movies. Well, the first one anyway. The self defense was decent enough.

Well there wasn't anything political about the show tho lefties like to say there was because somehow Chris Pratt bad. And I believe this was the Navy Seals not the marines ...... but I guess no difference right? ... as the Navy Seal bit is a pretty big theme in the show Did you watch it or just hear about it. I guess to some folks anything military or pro America must be ultra conservative. Oh well

the cliché they killed muh wife and daughter ending to episode 1 was a bit lame and derivative of another amazon movie tom clancys without remorse
