It's more of a cinematic production with a more dystopian feel to it, but I don't agree that it doesn't feel like Star Trek. Deep Space 9 started to take the franchise in a more dystopian direction, and people didn't like it at first, but it's a pretty popular series today. I think the adjustments they have made, thus far, are appropriate adjustments. I could change my mind as the series continues though.Watch the first episode
Didn't feel like Star Trek at all

eh you cant expect the same outdated cinematography and acting style that TNG had, 30 years later - it wouldnt mesh well with newer audiences
first episode was like watching a movie (or mini series like GOT/westworld/etc) - I was blown away with production values
yes, it seemed like your marvel movie at times but overall I am excited to see how characters and plot is going to be presented in upcoming episodes (will they be able to fuse old with the new successfully)
Really that sucks.Great episode. My wife, who didn't like Discovery a lot, is also completely hooked already.
They geoblocked the goddamn Ready Room with Wil Wheaton.
