Television The Star Trek Thread V6.0

The Enterprise finale was trash for many, many reasons. Brannon and Braga took over writing duties from Manny Coto for that episode, and it showed.
It was mainly Berman wanting his Swan Song, rather than giving Enterprise its proper due.

It would have made an interesting mid season filler episode, not a finale

I listened to the Voyager reunion special, and it was fun to just see them all together and BSing

They did talk about the original Captain, Geneviève Bujold. If you don't know she was the first actress hired to be the captain. She was Rick Berman's first choice, but many other didn't think she was a good fit, but were overruled. They were laughing that when she gave the command to jump to warp, she would close her eyes, dramatically grab her heart, then whisper "Engage".
She lasted 3 days before having a breakdown on stage, saying she was being overworked, and then quit. Within a week they hired Kate Mulgrew, who was an early favorite of the producers from her past work but had a terrible taped audition, so was passed over.

I can't seem to find out what happened to the Worf and Troi relationship

From what I understand, Worf and Troy were romantically involved towards the end of TNG

Even in the All Good Things there are hints that Worf and Troi will end up together

I'm assuming this gets answered in one of the movies?

Can anyone help me out

It was never addressed in TV or movies. It has been mentioned in books, that they were only together for a short time. It was basically a fling, and Worf quickly figured out she still had feelings for Riker. The writers originally wanted to create drama with Riker Worf, and Troi, but it was quickly abandoned because the cast and writers hated it.

Never addressed again, just like Picard and Crusher pursuing a relationship. In All Good Things in the future Picard and Crusher had actually eventually married and subsequently divorced. Iirc, at the end of the show back in the present it showed Picard thinking about going to see her. Then it was never mentioned again.

Which makes sense because he later had a relationship with Jadzia Dax, which made his relationship with Troi pretty much irrelevant during that time period.

True, but that was years later. Star Trek Generations came out only 6 months after All Good Things aired. Zero mention.

Yeah in the Picard book they address it. Beverly was fully prepared to leave the the Enterprise and join him on his new mission, but Picard in the end can't muster the courage to ask her. I bet it will be a plot point in the upcoming seasons

Everyone should out on DS9 tonight and turn on "Past tense" 1 and 2. Feels pretty poignant with what's going on in the world the past few weeks.

Hopefully not. Picard sucks so much I’d rather them just do their own thing with it then try to go down memory lane with cameos from old actors doing bastardized versions of their original characters. They’d probably have Dr. Crusher transitioning to a man, Benjamin Crusher.

Fuck, I haven’t watched those episodes in over 20 years. Maybe I will watch it just because.

I saw a buddy on facebook whos watching DS9 for the first time, post about it, so I had to give it a rewatch tonight. Chilling. Star Trek has been pretty accurate at predicting the future. If its right we have WW3 and then the Eugenics wars to look forward too, before the Vulcans come....
