Television The Star Trek Thread V6.0

Best episode with her in was actually when she came back pissed off.

Voyager would be improved by having some kind of list of episodes worth watching or needed to watch for plot, I don't think it was ever that it was lacking in good episodes so much as it had so many mediocre ones. It never really got hold of low key episodes the way TNG and DS9 did IMHO due to a lack of interesting characters.

You cut say a third of the lesser episodes out and it would probably be a much better viewing experience.

Voyager goat

You're combining the episodes

"The Void" has no indigenous species.

"Night" is the one with the Voyager find the alien species and need to save them from radiation

The night aliens live in a region called "The Void" but it has no relation with the episode "The Void"

I thought Phantome was indiginous to the Void

With all this isolation stuff I finally got around to giving Star Trek a go. Massive sci fi fan, but for whatever reason have always felt Star Trek wasn't for me. I like my futures bleak and ugly, I think I had in my head that the Trek universe was too squeaky clean for me.

Took a couple of goes to get started. Decided that DS9 and VOY was what I'd likely enjoy the most so almost started there, before deciding to include TNG and then finally waving the white flag and starting at the start.

Doing a selective watch of TOS (list of watch/skip) then full seasons from there.

Finished my planned watch of TOS season 1...And now I'm committed dammit. In for the long haul.

Can definitely see many of the things I don't like, but there's a lot more to it that I hadn't expected. It's a lot deeper than I thought it would be and I didn't expect the strength of the characters. Guess that's the remainder of my isolation sorted!

A lack of consequence is something that certainly starts to shift a good deal from the 3rd season onwards.

I'm hopin so. Just got through another episode where Quark has a thing, is told the thing is illegal and will get him thrown in jail, is revealed to have the thing to Odo, but the thing is used at the end of the episode to save people so there are no repercussions for his illegal smuggling.

Or the episode where Sisko orders Dax not to go kill some albino, asks her if she thinks things will go right back to normal if she disobeys, she then goes and kills the albino and things go back to normal.

At this point I don't believe anything any character says, which I don't think is what the writers were going for, but here we are.

I actually recommend TOS season three for the slashed budget workarounds and the many flavors of cheesey sets and overacting.
It's so bad it's kind of good.

Currently watching the infamous Spock's Brain

Funnily enough, the next ep is "The Enterprise Incident" one of my favorites, and among fans generally.
Cool cat and mouse espionage stuff.

I kinda liked that movie

I get the problems but still borg amirite
Nope.
I thought the Borg were fine for one or two eps. Not the lazy writer's go-to that it became.

I think the earth-tones MILF one was most acceptable.
Can't recall the plot though

I started drinking Earl Grey Tea like Picard and it is pretty good. like 2 bucks for a 30 pack at walmart. I got the juice now.

I have been drinking the following for the past weeks:

Three bags of Earl Grey
1.2 liters of boiling water

Later: add sweetener or sugar
Add lemon juice

Put into fridge, enjoy

Overall, I am pretty much booked up on coffee these days, but having Earl Grey all day will also do the trick.
