Television The Star Trek Thread V6.0

Anyone ever go on trekbbs back in the day? It was like the first star trek community website, that started in the mid 90s. I used to go on there and read posts, but didn't post. A star trek Facebook group recently posted some archived threads from the trekbbs and it was pretty hilarious.

They basically all complained about how Voyager was was too political, and was trying to promote the united nations and not the US, how Janeway is too weak to be captain, male crew wouldn't respond to a mother figure, Torres was a butch lesbian, and how Voyager was far too violent and Roddenberry would never allowed that ship to travel around destroying the delta quadrant. There was also a few complaining about Enterprise, including one with someone threatening to call there senator and head of the FCC because Enterprise was showing Vulcans engage in Pornography and lewdness. Pretty fascinating time capsule.

"Pornography and lewdness"??

Because of the decon scene?

I recall thinking it was laughably gratuitous when it aired.
Also that her fake tits are obvious and disgusting, especially the side boob we see when she turns her back.

Gave me a new appreciation of the Vulcan race.

Season 5, we were going to find out, that her father was in fact a Romulan spy.

I always wanted Seven to do it with a giant Hirogen.

One thing I hated about Seven (other than the writers having 90%+ episodes being about her) was the ridiculous body hugging outfit and the fucking platforms she walked around on.

Once I noticed the shoes, it's hard not to see them. They're big and unwieldy and impractical.

At least in the new show she can relax a bit with normal-person clothes.

The last few episodes have been great, after some mediocre episodes in the middle of the season. Looking forward to watching the last 2 episodes

I wouldnt have problems with Star Trek Picard if it was a spin off only - meaning, it didnt have Star Trek in its name

but since they want to connect it with Star Trek; it is god damn awful how they destroyed the whole lore and characters they've been building up for decades

If it was just called Picard and they didnt try to make any tie ins with previous series, it would have been an OK sci-fi action series (except for the first 4 episodes where shit all happens) but they had to go and ruin it

Shat's on fiverr; Whatever Your Ass Need™ is his logline. You can find him next to Robert DeNiro's I'll Do It and Andy Dick's Yes That Andy Dick.

this series is the only good thing to come out of picard

entertaining as hell breakdowns of each episode :D

Jeri Ryan developed into a pretty good actor. Kute Mulgrew hate her with a passion and tried to rally the rest of the cast to get her fired, but they all loved Jeri. There was quite bit of tensions once she became the main star, and then the cast found out she had secretly been in a relationship with show runner Brannon Braga.

The girdle was incredibly uncomfortable for Ryan, and I just can't get into fake tits.
She played the role admirably though.

Too bad about the radical character arc change.
Well, her suffering was worth it.

She was the best thing about Voyageur, and one of the best ST characters period, and not just because she was hot AF. Her impact was like Worf joining DS9, even greater, as we never got to see such an in depth look at someone coming back from prolonged assimilation.

I always remember this scene.... right in the feels

Interesting events in ep. 9. I await the gnashing of teeth by the passive aggressive crowd here.

The ending of Drone was tear jerkingly acted, just a great emotive display.

I'll admit that the episode 9 was the best one of the series

I'll be interested in seeing the conclusion but I still don't like this version of Star Trek
