Television The Star Trek Thread V6.0

Because stunning people with phasers isn't as thrilling as stabbing and slashing.
No matter that it makes little sense to use outdated weapons when modern weapons are so much more effective.

What they need is a phaser that shoots projectiles that explode once they're in someone's head or chest.
BOOM!!

It's Star Trek!
Welp

Episode 4 under my belt

Now I get to see pirate Picard

Nothing says Star Trek like extended onscreen torture!

It was completely necessary and not contrived at all

Imagine finishing Voyager on a high note and thinking about icheb and gee what a wonderful thing I wonder where he is at now let's check up on them

Imagine ensign Kim getting promoted.

Wtf was that about?

In Voyager Kim was supposed to die after species 8472 infected him

They hated that character so much they wanted to kill him with a living death

The doctor was like son of a b**** I can't even sedate him

But then kes ended up leaving instead

Doctor: " Kim is suddenly better"

IIRC Garrett Wang placed somewhere in a high profile magazine's sexiest men thingy, and he had enough popularity that they couldn't shitcan him.

Is anybody still watching this trash fire of a show?
I think the network keeps that info private. Idk but there's probably plenty of ST fans and new watchers.

I'm appalled that they did the opposite of everything I wanted the show to be, but that's life for you.

Oh I'm a ST fan myself. TNG was brilliant and I was really hoping this would be even half of what that was....but then I watched the first couple episodes and heard about the rest and was like nah. I ain't watching that. I refuse.

I pretend the Next Gen films don't exist. Recent ST has, IMO, been glossy and slick, but the writing is forced and hackish. Picard is more of the same, and explicitly jettisons everything we loved about TNG.

Yeah. The 1st episode of Picard actually gave me some hope. I loved the beginning on the Enterprise D with Data. And the dream sequence with him and the painting. And I kinda liked Chateu Picard. And #1 was a nice touch. But evidently everything after that was a steep drop off.

TNG was brilliant. And this show seems just flat out stupid. Then they rip some dudes eye out of his socket on screen as the beginning of an episode? Nah. Nope.

Nope nope nope.

Edit: also, Patrick Stewart should keep his opinions about Brexit and Trump to himself, and NOT on a ST show.
