Once again Clippy saying truth

I really do like the idea of books but they should be separate
The Star Trek Novels have been excellent the past decade. That's the only reason I'm kinda bummed about Picard, is because it will change what has happened in the books, which has been a terrific decade long arc, since the Destiny series.

Are they giving the fans what they want or what the sjws what they want
I don't get the SJW talk and Star Trek? DSC gets that wrap, but I don't see how.

Good to youtube and find Doomcock reviews discovery episodes
Dude that guy is trash. He makes up crazy rumors that are 99% BS but passes them off as from "secret insider sources". Channels like that are what's wrong with Fandom in general IMO. There's a YouTube group of him, midnights edge, and few other that mainly talk about star trek, star wars and marvel, and they just make up BS, to enrage and get clicks from the 4chan, incel types(not saying that's you). They get views because they make up stories, and come up with grandiose conspiracies, that lure people in. People then think that these guys are somehow legitimate or have insider knowledge, which is not true.

Interview with Alex Kurtzman and Julie McNamara, CBS All Access executive vice president of original content, in Vanity Fair:

Interesting parts about all series except Lower Decks, e.g.

So to me Section 31 is sort of like the black ops CIA division of Star Trek and it was established in Deep Space 9. Full credit goes to Michelle Yeoh for coming to me and saying in season one, before we even launched, “I want to do a spin off of my character!” With Michelle Yeoh, it's very hard to say no.

This was like a year before Crazy Rich Asians came out and we had not launched Discovery yet. No one had seen it. So I was like, let's have one show that hopefully people like and we can talk about it. Once Discovery happened, I brought it to Julie and she immediately said, great, let's develop it. Erica [Lippoldt] and Bo Yeon [Kim], two writers on our Discovery staff, started writing a pilot and it's really different. It occupies an area of the Trek universe that's never really been explored geographically. It has a new mythology to it, which is very interesting. And it puts Michelle's character to the test in a lot of ways that Discovery can't. In some ways it will be her Unforgiven, I would say.

Maybe Beta Quadrant?

The whole article is pretty interesting. I figured they offered Yeoh her own series, to lock her up in a long term deal, after her recent rise in fame due to DSC and Crazy Rich Asians, but she approached them about it.

I was kinda bummed recently to find out David Mack, who has written many great Section 31 novels, will not be in the writer's room. I talk to him on facebook sometimes, and he told he put his name in for contention, but hasn't heard back. He said he loves writing books and has an overall deal as an advisor on the new Nick show, and the other Trek shows as needed, but would like the chance to join a writer's room. David famously wrote several spec scripts for DS9, back when Star Trek accepted submissions from the public.

Here's the ship Picard is commanding as Admiral.
USS Verity
Odyssey Class ship

Also, interesting to note, The Enterprise-F based in Star Trek Online, is an Odyssey-class ship. It was designed by a fan, who won a design contest, much like the USS Titian.

New uniforms usually take me a while to like, but I really like these new star fleet uniforms.

Really gonna be interesting how they go about world building. I understand from the interviews so far they are doing everything to accommodate Stewart, which may be a good thing. But eventually I don't expect more than 1 or 2 seasons with Patrick Stewart. I mean he is pushing 80 and he has referenced Logan. It may just be a nice send-off for the character. In the end, to me, it is also important whether additional series can be based on this.

I have to say, one sentence in the Kurtzman interview also got my attention: when he said the Section 31 series would cover uncharted territory, geographically speaking. There may be some potential for strange new worlds, even if it is Black ops, because who says S31 only operates in federation space?

It looks like the Voyager ship.
