Television The Star Trek Thread V6.0

I want at least one actual DS9 cast member to appear. Worf doesn't count as he was TNG beforehand. Maybe also get one of the three remaining TOS guys to cameo in the finale too. I think all of the Enterprise crew would be dead by then, even T'Pol, otherwise they could just go nostalgia-mad for the end.

I would really like to get some type of closure on Sisko. That whole part of the DS9 story arc was left ambiguous and unresolved. They should have done something when more DS9 cast members were younger, healthier, and alive.

I was thinking maybe to see Kira, she hasn't aged that much.

Well the big theory is that its the pah wraith controlling jack, and the new evolved changelings. So we may see a DS9 character, but we are running out of time. I see a lot of people online saying Sisko will appear but I just don't see it. He hasn't acted in over 20 years, hasn't made a public appearance in a decade, and there have been rumors he's in poor health.

Yeah, I don't see him appearing. Quark or Kira would be good.

Goddamn, these surprise cameos are even catching me off guard. The end of the episode had all the feels. Damn, this has been a great season. Only 1 left....

They just announced that they will be showing Episodes 9 and 10, on Imax across the country. Apparently, there was unprecedented demand that overloaded Imax system, so they may be adding more showings.

A good sign for a future Star Trek: Legacy series,

Picard season 3 ratings have come out, and it is #4 most viewed show. Those are really big ratings, when going against Netflix, HBO ect... Since Paramount + is a smaller service.

Also just read a interview with Jonathan Frakes and he talks about his episode of SNW he directed this season, which the crew of Lower decks end up in a time rift and ends up in live action on the Enterprise. Sounds amazing

What this shows is that Star Trek that appeases the whole fan base (not just newer fans or casual fans) can score very big ratings.

I have to say I’m pretty underwhelmed/disappointed that they’ve gone with the Borg as the Big Bad. Again. I mean as great as Best of Both Worlds was it was still just a two-parter 33 years ago and the Borg have been completely milked dry at this point. They’ve done three seasons of Picard and the Borg have featured prominently in all of them. The Star Trek universe is big and full of great stuff - why do they need to just keep going back to the Borg well over and over and over?

I’m also confused at how they’re the villains again. I thought in season 2 (which I didn’t watch) the Borg became good and they got a new Queen, Agnes or whatever. But they’ve brought back Alice Krige again? Wtf?

They were just a faction of Borg . After the events in Voyager endgame, most the Borg were destroyed, but pockets did remain, which is how many of the Borg in season 1 were found and being rehabilitated, they were no longer connected to the big collective. Same with season 2 Borg, they were a independent collective. This appears to be the original Borg queen somehow surrived.

If you look back through the whole season they lay out clues, the veins in jack visions, Ro figuring out not to use transporters, needing Picard original body, ect.

They rebuilt the whole thing from scratch, no cgi. They also confirmed that they have learned from past mistakes and CBS will be keeping this set in permanent storage for future use if needed.
