Let's do this one! I'll be out of town at a soccer tourney with one of my daughters, but will have the laptop and DAZN with me. It's a beautiful thing while it lasts.

Andy Ruiz vs Anthony Joshua
Sky Sports, DAZN Diriyah, Saudi Arabia

Andy Ruiz (33-1, 22 KOs) vs Anthony Joshua (22-1, 21 KOs)

WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO Heavyweight Title

Andy Ruiz Jr. managed to shock the boxing world back in June when he knocked out Anthony Joshua in just seven rounds to win the World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation, and World Boxing Organization heavyweight titles.

Ruiz Jr. (33-1, 22 KO) entered the bout against Joshua as a late replacement after Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller failed a drug test. Despite an impressive 32-1 record at the time, Ruiz Jr. was looked at as a massive underdog going into the bout, with Joshua closing as a favorite upwards of -3000. The bout was far more memorable than the odds would have suggested, as Ruiz Jr. was able to knock Joshua down four times before the referee had seen enough. The win was by far the biggest of the Mexican-American's career, as he had previously come up short in his 2016 title fight against Joseph Parker. The self-professed Snickers fan came in at a sizable 283 pounds, 15 pounds heavier than he weighed in June.

Joshua (22-1, 21 KO) will be looking to prove that the first loss of his career was a fluke, and is a slight -275 favorite to do just that. The Olympic gold medalist has been beloved in his native England since the 2012 games, and made his mark as a pro by knocking out and retiring Wladimir Klitschko in 2017. He had stayed perfect prior the loss to Ruiz Jr., knocking out Alexander Povetkin and capturing a decision over Parker in 2018. Joshua looked as impressive as ever and weighed in at 237 pounds, a whole 10 pounds slimmer than his first meeting with Ruiz Jr.

Rounding out the Saudi Arabia card are two notable heavyweight bouts as Povetkin (35-2, 24 KO) takes on Michael Hunter (18-1, 12 KO), while Dillian Whyte (26-1, 18 KO) looks to stay busy against Mariusz Wach (33-5, 17 KO).

Ruiz Jr. vs. Joshua 2 Weigh-in Results:
Andy Ruiz Jr. (283) vs. Anthony Joshua (237)
Alexander Povetkin (229) vs. Michael Hunter (226)
Dillian Whyte (271) vs. Mariusz Wach (270)
Filip Hrgovic (241) vs. Eric Molina (248)
Mahammadrasul Majidov (231) vs Tom Little (251)

Oh, wow. Props to @cottagecheesefan with the time heads up in the other thread, and I'm going to post my weight-related reply there over here as well. Enjoy the fight!

So they have the ring walls listed for 345 est, for 4pm start time (eastern).

Hopefully have it scheduled doesn't miss people off. The Canelo timing was ridiculous, but I also like knowing when it will happen

Good lookin' out! I had already just forgotten/not been thinking recently about the fight being in Saudi Arabia, I guess. From a ring walk perspective, I mean. F. I'm not even sure I'm going to be able to watch at 4PM eastern tomorrow, I'll have to figure that out. Also, I cannot believe Ruiz is that much heavier. I find that odd. Very odd. No way the game plan for his camp was to put extra weight on the guy I saw in the ring in the last fight. Not possible. Mexican or not. lol

I'm pissed I put fake money on him in the vbookie thread. I really thought he'd get AJ out earlier this time, but now I wouldn't bet actual money on him straight up at 20-1 odds. Ugh.

This is a disturbing development, IMO. There is no way for me to envision a path to saying he should come in heavier for this bout than the last. Frankly, it's outrageous given the extra weight he had last time. Not saying he wasn't training and he obviously had some cardio to go 7, but no fucking way was the plan going into camp to weigh 285 at the weigh-in today. lol
No fucking way.

He's gonna look like Louie Anderson in the ring.

But don't make that mistake like many do about his fat.. because Andy and his coaches know him the best and they all say when he is more lean he is not as good, he lost his only pro fight against Parker when he was at his lightest, only 255 for that fight.. and he was so lackluster in it. In his earlier fights when he was close to 300 Ibs he was smoking guys... and his other fights he was 262-280 and very good. And they say in sparring he never felt good being lighter and had more energy heavier.

We can't disprove this with that bro science garbage, because he knows himself better than we know him and the proof of his fights.. he is correct.

I think your vbook money is all good brother ;)

Andy has an EPIC chin and like I always said from years ago I am not convinced about Joshua's chin, I think he is too hittable and easy to drop

WOW! This is a great card and the Main Event is great! I can't wait, Ruiz is cool but go Joshua!

I feel if Joshua plays it safe he is fucked. If he doesn’t hesitate, throws power when needed and isn’t gunshy he will stop Ruiz. If not he is getting sparked.

AJ wins imo in the 8th

Mahammadrasul Majidov vs Tom Little starts in little under an hour and I believe it will be shown free on Youtube.

Mahammadrasul Majidov (1-0) is an Olympic bronze medallist that beat AJ is the amateurs, so one to watch out for.

Any idea about what time the main event will start ?

I guess the press were wrong when they said the Little v Majidov fight was on the prelims lol only 25 minutes until the main card
