Movies The Odyssey (2026) - First Trailer

Some people cannot grasp the idea that Asia is the biggest continent on earth and is home to many different ethnicities, depending on what part of Asia we 're talking about. By his logic Jesus may have been a Mongol, and Herod a Japanese guy, since Israel, Japan and Mongolia are all in Asia.
Having a Korean - looking guy in an ancient Greek army is preposterous and is nothing but the result of modern woke casting.
Agreed 100%. I was scratching my head when I first heard Disney's casting decisions on the live action remakes of both Little Mermaid and Snow White.

Why not show a cyclops, or a harpy, or sirens, or Scylla, or something other than dry generic spartan looking warriors?

Trailer didn't hype me up or anything but I'll watch anything Nolan does

I hope he doesn't shy away from the fantastical elements too much.

The beginning of the journey is the end of the long siege.
Still I presume that the besieging army would look somewhat decent since they had the access to food, fresh water, etc.

Let us wait for the final product, but the trailer looks like dirt and sweat were added to show off grit and hardassness, like every action flick does.

Not feeling the trailer <6>

Like they tried to make a boring version of Troy

Troy sucks outside of a few moments. Diane Krueger though, got damn.

Most likely Agamemnon. For a few seconds you see Jon Bernthal on the left, who is playing Menelaos, who is Agamemnon's brother.

I think it looks promising. Nolan usually delivers with very few exceptions. Looking forward to it.

Also what's with people complaining about "wrong" helmets? It's greek mythology. Legends. Stories. Folklore. This movie is Nolan's interpretation of it. This can't and won't be a history channel documentary.

The number of liberties they take with the mythology and quality of the film is all that matters to me. It's folklore, as you stated, so it will be wholly subjective to Nolan's vision. And typically, Nolan does great fucking work.

Shh. You can't criticize a diverse cast, even if people of Asian background were never in Homer's novel
These stories have been reinterpretated by every generation. It's a known fact among historians and very legit.

These tales were created to give the common folk some foundation of explanation and structure. They were also meant to entertain very much.

If you're raging about black dwarfs and gay giants you have a different problem.

Greek mythology isn’t abstract fantasy. It’s storytelling that emerged from a specific culture, time, and material world. That context still matters, even in a fictional adaptation.

Hey man you take that back, Troy was awesome.

It's criminal to even have Matt Damon portray Odysseus. The guy just doesn't have the look nor the acting chops to play such a legendary character.

The supporting cast? Yeah it's stacked up with alot of big Hollywood names. I wonder how this will go

Nolan is a solid director but I just don't know man

Pretty sure it was also in the theatrical. I remember watching it in ancient history class and the teacher stood in front of the TV not letting us see the scene

Your teacher was a fucking hater. Unfortunately for them, the internet exists. Free the titties.
