Actually I could put up better houses for less if the government weren't standing in the way. The houses today don't last like they used to. You have builds from 60 70 years ago in good shape, back when these regulations didn't exist.

We simply can't put the time and quality materials into a house because it is too expensive because of these issues.

I would be terrified to see the condition of modern homes 20 30 years from now.

It's materials. To use the quality that was used 60-70 years ago would be too expensive. And as I said, I've worked with builders. Leaving it up to them and not having checks would be a disaster. They cut corners anytime they can as it is.

my home was built way back and its built with twice the materials than are used today. its overbuilt in every way.

you could not build that house for cheaper if the gov was not in the way.
