CM Punk didn't really care about or respect the business. Don't get me wrong, I was on board with the Summer of Punk and his title reigns after. When he abruptly quit, I initially backed him but since then I'm really turning around on my perception of him. We're hearing more and more about how he wasn't easy to get along with on top of constantly complaining about his booking and the booking of those he viewed as friends or had potential.

He was always sold as an indy guy that didn't fit the mold but had a passion for the business and it was that passion that broke through and made him one of the top guys. He got to the pinnacle of the business and was still in one of the top spots when he left. He constantly complained about his booking and made it seem like he was being held back and threw numerous bitch fits about guys like Roman and the Rock getting certain spots over him. The Rock got a top billing at Wrestlemania because 1. He's The Rock and more importantly 2. He was trying to help the company that put him in a position that he is now.

Here's the thing, when have you ever seen Punk try to get the business over as a whole as opposed to only getting himself over? I think that was one of his main problems. Say what you want about Cena and some of the others, but they are actively trying to do what's best for business. Punk was just always out for himself and for that I can no longer see him as some sympathetic character or tragic hero of sorts.

Well, the can of worms has been opened.

My short answer, he's a bitch, he always has been a bitch, he always will be a bitch and I don't like him.

Another entitled amatuer who thought because he worked hard in front of 30 people, meant he should be pushed to the moon when he signed to the place where the real work starts.

And I make that judgement solely on his own statements during his DVD.

The only thing I can say. He's gone... So fuck him.

I liked him, I liked his style, I was behind the "pipebomb", A lot of what he said was true... but there's so much changing now and there is stuff to be interested in now and yet, he's not in business trying to help. So fuck him

I'm not saying Punk wasn't a bit of a mark for himself, but he probably was the most over full-timer on the roster for years. He deserved to be booked as such; not jobbing to the Rock just so they can try(for the zillionth time) to get Cena over by having him go over on the Rock.

hes talented and multifaceted but he truly thought he was entitled to glory. As if working for the WWE is a cakewalk compared to the indies?

I wouldn't go the "he's a @&$%" route, but he definitely seems like a whiner.

You can't go against the grain 24/7.

Punk whined way too much for my tastes
Every fuckin promo was "Waa waa waa Im the best its everybody elses fault cause everything waa waa waa"
Fuck that puto

One of my biggest issues with the guy was his "It's okay for me, but not for thee" attitude, especially for a guy who REALLY struggles with the concept of context.

Eh... I was never a punk fan.. I personally don't find any part of him entertaining. I think his matches suck, his mic work is boring and every interview I've seen of him outside of WWE controlled media he kinda comes off as unlikeable (although not a bad guy). I did like his finisher though. The "go to sleep" move always had the appearance of a super hard shot.

His late mic work vs HHH/McMahons was carried by HHH and still boring and cringy.. I don't find that kind of drama even slightly entertaining.. But I assume I am a minority because he seems to have a billion fans.

WWE seems like it requires a very unique kind of ego to be apart of. No matter how big you are you are expected to pass the torch sooner or later.. And probably multiple times. Nobody retires undefeated and almost nobody goes out on a win. I don't view cm punk as a guy that fits that mold. He instead decided to take his ball and go home. I'm glad he has gotten out of it entirely though. And started doing something new that he enjoys. The only thing worse would be to start going the Kevin Nash route and continue doing horrific work in random organizations while doing interviews talking about his delusions of what makes a great talent.

Obviously there is no way to know what details went on behind the scenes. But I will always respect the guy for slaying Aj lee AND lita.

That being said. If he got rekt in the UFC and AJ divorces him and then she goes back to WWE. I wouldn't feel bad for him and I'd get some bang for my buck.

I liked Punk.

Great promos, great story telling and a good anti-establishment baby face. Punk was a great heel though. SES was hilarious and he carried his feud with Jeff Hardy. I wish wasn't such a pain in the ass to work with. Did punk ever make anyone else though? I don't recall

No, he's tried on more than one occasion to convice people that he created The Shield and made them. But, nobody has been made a bigger star for having worked with him.

Hell, there was a story that JTG told about how Punk was sometimes.

The guy was a glorified midcarder for 5 years (Pre pipe bomb) who acted like Vince McMahon owed him something because he couldn't get over with multiple reigns as World Champion and being the leader of two different stables that didn't get over. He thought be the King of ROH meant he deserved to main event over The Rock who is 20x more over than he could ever dream to be.

I give him credit for conning Vince McMahon until giving him more money for 2 years before quitting which is all he wanted. Once he fails in the UFC and his prepubescent wife divorces him, he'll be crawling back to Vince for a check.

Also

Fuck him for coining the whole Part Timers/Full Timers shit, Motherfucker acts like he's getting a 401K and Dental plan over guys like Undertaker or something.

Punk put up a fuss about putting the rock over. I think that is fairly troubling. The Rock has more than paid his dues and it is because the rock only works part time that there was room for guys like punk and miz at the top of the card for a while.

When Rock came back to fight Cena at Wrestlemania 28, it set the record for most ppv buys in the history of pro wrestling (Over 1.25M). And Punk wonders why he wasn't in the main event.

No, Struggle. Mania was the draw...

That was a huge mistake

Should have had Punk in a triple threat with Cena and Rock. Instead we got a basic throwaway Taker match.
